Cranganor History Café & Riverside Château

Stunning location right on the river. Food all made fresh to order with a couple of hours notice and absolutely delicious. Outside shower really pretty. The design of the property and gardens is wonderful. Lovely sunsets over the other side of the river. I will return.

Noisy air conditioning unit from neighbouring room on the wall of my room was very loud at night. No option to turn it off since belongs to next door room. But I'm a light sleeper so probably a bit fussy and would rather have the peace than the cool air.

The room was very comfortable, the river so lovely and close with very pretty views from the property. We are a senior couple who enjoyed the serene environment and the good food. What was truly excellent is the highly attentive service. No request was too slight or onerous for the staff. They were cheerful, respectful and knowledgeable. They arranged our tour with care and we saw quite a bit of the heritage surrounds. We highly recommend this resort for any traveller, young and less young.

We spend our last 2 days in the hotel before heading home and couldn't be happier with our choice. It's the lovely resort in a most gorgeous location. The views were just stunning all around. Our lake view room was very spacious and comfortable. We really enjoyed spending time on our balcony or beside the beautiful pool. Don't miss the massage in their spa facilities, as it was the best massages that we got in Kerala and we had quite a few.

It's hard to know where to start as everything about Cranganor is perfect! The setting on the banks of the Periyar river is absolutely beautiful. Our first floor room had a large balcony with comfortable chairs that overlooked the grounds and the river and we loved watching the birdlife in the trees. Everything is well organised by the friendly and helpful staff. The food is delicious and served with great care. The infinity pool is beautiful. We were initially booked for one night and then, to our joy, our flight home was delayed by 24 hours and we were able to stay for a second night. The shop sells lovely cotton clothes which are made on the premises. I had a dress made in just a few hours before we left. Thank you to all at Cranganor for a really lovely stay!

This is the third time we are visiting Cranganor and in different seasons and each time we go back home with very pleasant memories. Beautiful property on the banks of the Periyar and about an hours drive from Ernakulam. Do visit if you are bored of 5 star hotels but want a 5 star resort experience away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
