Cranganor History Café & Riverside Château

We had another amazing stay at Cranganor!! It’s so relaxing spending time in the gardens and the pool as the property is set right on the Periyar river. There is always a nice spot to sit and watch the sunset, and watch the fisherman go by. The rooms are really well decorated and have a rustic heritage charm to them. All the staff are super helpful, friendly and provide an excellent service. Special shoutout to Jeevan and Amul for making our second stay even better than the first! The food is really delicious and there are good breakfast options. Out of all of our stays in Kerala this is by far our favourite! We will definitely be back again. Thank you!

Fantastic location. Very helpful staff. Lovely room with a beautiful vista. Food quality. The evening entertainment and the boat trip organised by hotel were both very memorable. Very tastefully decorated. Nice pool.

No major issues for us.

Not often this happens but a 10/10 Excellent from start to finish, managed two nights use of all facilities, food fab and cleaning one of the best , the pool and the gardens , above and beyond service from everyone at the Hotel , and two very special young men who are trying to make a career and a life for themselves by leaning Hospitality, from which one day they will manage there own Hotels and travel the world, they were Akhil and Amal thankyou.

The setting is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen in Kerala and the staff couldn’t have been more kind and helpful. I would love to visit again someday. The relaxation is unparalleled. Accommodations are slightly rustic with an elegance unique to its owners. I loved it but might not be for everyone.

Nothing is perfect! I think because of the time of year, it was quite pricey, even tho it’s expensive to run a property such as this one and do it well, so I don’t fault them for it. I’m sure I paid extra for the bathtub in my room, which didn’t perform well. It takes a lot of water and not nearly enough hot water is available to make it even a little warm. Next time I’d book without the tub.
