Krouma Camp & Ecolodge

Krouma Eco Lodge is a special place in a wonderful enviroment. The rooms are very basic, which I liked. Very peaceful and with an extremely nice staff. They are doing a great job with the garden and the food was very nice. Just keep in mind that you are on a island, so your movements are somewhat restricted, although the staff can organize you any kind of boattrip in the beautiful Cataract Area. As a woman who travels on her own, I felt safe.

Location & clean

Very beautiful nature, delicious food, excellent coffee, very comfy beds and very kind people. A very relaxing and regenerating stay! After sunset you might want to use mosquito repellent!

Our stay at Krouma Ecolodge was truly perfect in every way - the island feels like a little piece of paradise and is the perfect place to relax, enjoy the nature with swims in the Nile and beautiful sunsets, and to discover Aswan and surrounding Nubian villages. The team of Krouma is so so lovely and made our stay truly unforgettable. The room is spacious, clean, and comfortable and the food is fresh and delicious. We went kayaking and swimming and enjoyed time on the island. We would recommend Krouma to anyone who seeks peace and calmness and a unique experience in Egypt.

We stayed 4 nights in one of the cabins in Krouma Camp and enjoyed it a lot. The atmosphere is very relaxed (perfect after hectic Cairo) and the nature is beautiful there. You can even swim in the Nile - a must do (everyone tells you: don't swim in the Nile but we swam there everyday and we didn't have any problems, just try it but be aware, it's really cold but so refreshing). It is located on an island and you need a boat to go to the mainland (2 minutes) but it always worked very well. The food was very delicious. The vision of the owners is to teach people about Nubian culture so that it won't get forgotten. One of them spent some evenings talking to us about Nubian culture. Esra, one of the owners, speaks English very well and sometimes translated for us. We booked a tour to Abu Simbel with them and everything worked well. Best hotel concerning the atmosphere and for everybody who seeks something different and natural.

Sometimes the taxi drivers made problems with driving to where the boat leaves because the roads are a bit bad. But the manager can call a TukTuk for you to the main road for 20 EGP (about 10 minutes).

I stayed in may at krouma camp and eco lodge in Aswan, and it was absolutely amazing! The people there were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The scenery was pure magic, with the stunning Nile River and breathtaking desert views. It was a truly enchanting experience that I'll never forget. If you're looking for a place where hospitality meets natural beauty, this eco lodge in Aswan is a must-visit!

Leisurely breakfast, excellent coffee, location very quiet (apart from the Imams!), small number of customers meant the Kamp itself was very quiet.

The drive to the location is quiet challenging, access to the ferry boat is steep, OK for younger travellers, less so for the age challenged.
