"Relaxing stay in Nubian-style buildings on quiet island"

Krouma is an excellent alternative the enormous chunky hotels. The whole Nubian design is so thoughtfully done. The food is quite good, and comes in very generous portions. The staff are excellent at helping arrange trips to various sites. A delight is the location on a quiet island, but of course one needs to plan additional time to go via boat (very pleasant), or short ferry and then car to go to things in town. We really enjoyed our stay and are very glad we chose Krouma.

Just be aware that food service can take a very long time, so plan well ahead when you want to request your meals. Breakfast is very filling and tasty, but doesn't come until 0900 at the earliest. However, they can provide a to-go meal if doing an excursion like Abu Simbel.

A true hidden gem. Although reaching the premises is an adventure on its own, it was very much worth it. Comfortable room, beautiful view, a relaxed environment and very friendly staff. We would altogether very much recommend a stay here.
