Ecofinca Salento

- Spacious and tranquil farm (ft. animals) location with expansive views over the valley - Fresh generously-sized breakfast (eggs on bread, 2 x fruit bowl, coffee and juice) - 10-minute walk to the central square of Salento

- Gaps in the construction of the bungalow resulted in us suffering from both insect bites and being cold through the night. - The walk from the Bungalow to the WC and shower was beside the dining area so lacked privacy when needing to use the facilities during the morning and night. - Inconvenient needing to make payment for our stay (4-nights) in cash - particularly as are only 3 ATMs all in the centre of Salento - Small kitchen (only really suitable for 2 people cooking at a time) with limited cooking ware and fridge lacked cleanliness.

The view from the outside terrace is gorgeous and the hammocks are great. The free breakfast was also delicious. WiFi also surprisingly fast even outside! We saw fireflies and the lady the reception was delightful despite our poor Spanish.

The walk to the hostel from town is not for the weak and the area feels less safe than the rest of town (don’t bring grandma). The cabin we stayed in looked great in pictures, however in person, there was a lot left to be desired. The shed wasn’t airtight with gaps between windows and a hole in the door meaning bugs could get in at night. The bathroom arrangements at this hostel were weird- most appeared to be shut behind lock and key, much to the dismay of the guests. They opened this for us as a “private bathroom” which made us a target amongst the other travellers, who used it freely thereafter.

Very peaceful and quiet stay with the perfect view overlooking the mountains. There is a shared kitchen you can use and breakfast is simple but consistant breakfast. The finca is very simple and a bit rustic so not for those who like more comfort.

there was a misunderstanding about the payment before my arrival. I got an email telling me I have to pay 50% before arrival, but as I don't have a Columbian bank account and also in booking it said the whole amount will be withdrawn feom my credit card, there was a lot of confusion.

Away from the noise but close enough to walk to the city centre. Basic room but with unique vibe
