Ecofinca Salento

People were so friendly and helpful. Hostel location is really good, so calm and peaceful. You can only hear the birds, water, and nature sounds. I recommend this hostel

I had a good nights stay in a large domed tent on a beautiful and peaceful little finca on the edge of town. It is very quiet and at night all I could hear was the jungle. 5/10 mins walk to the centre and right next to a small road that takes you down to the river after a beautiful 1 or 2 hour walk.

It was quiet

Breakfast was skimp - a few pieces of papaya and half a banana, a couple greasy fried eggs and lots of white bread... They are quick to call the cops for no reason --- I didn't ask for a receipt when I paid in cash upon arrival, so it wasn't clear if I paid the last night or not before I went to sleep that evening. I was staying one more night and getting a ride to the bus terminal from the manager's husband, so we agreed to settle it in the morning. Management called the cops on me anyway and I have yet to receive any form of apology, nor accountability from Booking...

The location! If you want to stay close to the town, but still have peace and quiet, this is the place to go! It's basically like those "mountain retreats" which you can only reach by jeep, just that this one is within walking distance from the bus terminal and the town centre. The driveway down to the finca is not even 50m and yet it's enough to get away from all the noise and fuss of the town. It's on the outskirts of Salento, so you get a great view over the green valley below and a feeling of being surrounded by nature while still being in close proximity of all the restaurants and shops. The facilities! I was in a dorm with a shared bathroom. Everything was clean, there were extra blankets, in case it gets cold, and a well equipment kitchen that you're free to use after breakfast hours. The Wifi is excellent and strong all around the property. The best part is the terrace. From here you get this awesome view, there's hammocks and comfy chairs and even a power socket, so you can set up your homeoffice. I feel like I spent half of my time in Salento just lazing in those hammocks. The staff! It's basically run by a family who decided to share their house with travellers. They're all friendly, very attentive, warm and welcoming. The breakfast! It's usually eggs, bread, fresh fruit and a hot beverage served on the terrace.

the cottage is super cozy for 1 person. gets cold but you get many blankets.

on my last day i didnt get breakfast because they didnt see me „coming home“ (i was respectfully quiet at midnight..?)

We weren't allowed to use the kitchen once we checked out, would have been nice to make a quick lunch after our morning walk!

Really lovely spot. Felt like home. Easy walk to town but out in nature. The couple who run it are super nice.

Walls are a bit thin

Great location, quiet all day. The staffs are really nice! The environment and view are great, you can even see fireflies at night. I lived at the tent, it’s really relaxing to lie in it and zone out.

There are lots of insects so if you have phobias it might be not a good choice but other than that is great!
