lovely lodge perfect for a relaxing break away. The property has a really cosy feel and makes you feel welcome.

I can’t say there was anything I didn’t like about the property however, the guttering above the door drips constantly when it’s raining so may need to be replaced or fixed.

The location was excellent in a beautiful park with the river running through it. It was good to be able to book just 2 nights. When we arrived the living area and kitchen seemed fine plus 2 of the bedrooms were a good size. It was a few minutes drive from the centre of Builth Wells.

The property was not clean. Although, the bedding looked and smelt clean we found several human hairs of different lengths in 2 of the beds and there was a small stain on a pillow. The fridge was dirty and so was some of the cutlery. When we cleaned the kitchen work surfaces the wipes we used were very dirty and there was a deep gouge in the surface. The hob and top of the microwave were dirty. The oven had a broken knob and something had been melted onto the inside of the toaster. The property was dusty including the shelves in the wardrobe and this got on our clothing. Even the shoelaces on a pair of shoes were dusty after being on the floor. There were cobwebs. The plug and tooth mug in the bathroom were dirty and there was a used bar of soap in the shower. It was clear that the property had not been cleaned properly for some time. There was a nail laying on the floor in one of the bedrooms. The smoke alarm was not fixed in place but hanging down. In the small bedroom the ceiling was damaged and there was a very small spike sticking out of the wall. There was no information folder and no sign of safety certificates. The property is in need of refurbishment. Family members stayed in 2 other properties on the site which were both extremely clean, furnished to a high standard and had lovely welcome packs. We would have tolerated ours if it were clean, but we didn't want to sleep in the beds after finding the hairs and slept on top of the duvets. If we had not been attending a funeral we would have left the following morning.
