Big room , all necessary items provided , could prepare meals , comfortable bed , Public transport approx 8 min from house.

Seating & no handrails to access bath/shower.

The property is in a lovely quiet location and within short walking distance to Cairns Central I stayed in the Granny Flat which was very comfortable and very well equipped as a home away from home for my 18 day holiday The outdoor general area is well shaded and offers plenty of seating and tables to enjoy the warmth of Cairns for a quiet coffee or glass of wine Julie is a very caring host with excellent communication and very quick response times, hospitality wise she involved me with her local friends in live band dancing (although I don’t dance haha!) Trivia night and dinner with her neighbours which was so fabulous

Room was fairly spacious and the location was relatively close to city centre. The host was obliging and tried to help us with our needs. It is good value for the money.

The advertisement stated that the room had a king size bed but it was actually a queen size bed. The mattress was very soft which some people may like but it was a little too soft for our liking. The advertisement stated that it has an open plan bathroom - in reality this means that the bathroom is open to the bedroom and kitchen areas and the only sink in the room is the kitchen sink.

location was good

This was a traditional Queenslander house close to central Cairns but had a broken window at the front, a known burglary inviting issue. My room was not even lockable. There was a second door from my room to the verandah but the host found its usage tedious and it was not allowed. By providing no information whatsoever in advance the host was able and did berate me for using the wrong crockery, the wrong rubbish bins, the wrong bus ticket, shoes, doors, cockroach-infested dishwashers and using the bathroom. In 5 days I used only the kettle in the kitchen as the microwave was broken and the guest fridge was outside. The blocked drains in the bathroom were apparently a gender issue. The host offered to take me to the airport but a day later with vicious timing demanded $25. While in a booking.com FAQ this was not an advertised service or advised fee. The host said a taxi was $30 and Uber $25 but this is a lie. My Uber Pool there was $15 and the driver wasn’t even sour let alone a misery.

Close proximity to town, great facilities, clean and tidy, a home away from home. Julie was great she went over and above the expectations, was very friendly, and will be a forever friend.

Julie was a very welcoming host. She made sure I had everything I needed on arrival and offered to pick me up from the airport if needed. The place was clean, quiet and very comfortable. Walkable to the main attractions in Cairns.

Finally having an air conditioned room with my own makeshift bathroom and kitchen, TV, Microwave. Meeting some of the long-term residents that stay there. And having my privacy.... for the most part. Though if you stay in any of the lower rooms you can hear the people on the second floor walking around.

update , I just read the response from the hostess . Being told at first that the first room I reserved had air conditioning in the room and it did not. The fact is, when I reserved my room originally the ad for that room did state that there was air conditioning in the room . In fact, it was stated twice in the ad . The actual air conditioning unit is in the living area so to reap any benefits from it you would have to keep your door opened whenever you needed and have no privacy . Also she mentioned to me That the air conditioning is Or can be too cold for her . So because she lives there she may not be willing to turn it on depending on the time of year . I had to spend time changing rooms as I cannot tolerate the Heat and that was the main reason I reserved that particular room in the first place. Then, she wanted to charge me extra to change rooms so I complained to booking.com and then she changed her mind about charging me extra because she committed fraud by lying in her ad to begin with . Going to a laundromat because one of the washing machine she has is outside, Rusty and sits low to the ground and there is no dryer. So unless you are okay with Crispy towels and don't mind bending down , go to a laundromat. she does have other rooms that might be more conducive for people with physical issues. I can only imagine how expensive it is to keep up that place but her kitchen Linens Etc are outdated and the house in general needs many repairs. ... not to mention that there was mold on the ceiling in the shower area! If you stay upstairs you will share her kitchen. And you will share an outside refrigerator on the upper deck with the other residents that stay upstairs. She has very particular rules about how you use her place . She is not the best housekeeper . I found light fixtures that were not dusted , cobwebs with bugs in them. Also, I got visited by a cockroach one night. Make sure you lock up or hide anything you don't want her to see.
