Bayu, the owner, is a studied Anthropologist, and has got very close relationships with original Mentawai people. Besides of that, he represents the best of a Homestay by a warm personal and inviting atmosphere to his guests.

Padang homestay was great place to stop for an evening en route to the Mentawai Island. The rooms were comfortable - we slept well - and it was walking distance from food, laundry and other essential shops. Hosts were helpful and kind. I would’ve loved to stay another night or two and explored Padang.

- Good location with everything for daily needs either close by or just a short Grab ride away - Room was well equipped and very clean - Although we didn't meet the official owners, the family of them that lives on the property is extremely nice and always willing to help. The brother helped us to buy mosquito spray for an upcoming trip and the family was storing our bags for us free of charge while we were on the Mentawai island.

- The room is indeed small for two persons but definitely okay for a few nights.

The location is not far from city centre. The place is spotlessly clean.

The bedsheet is too slippery, didn't hold onto the bed.

Bayu and his wife were super friendly and greeted us like friends. The homestay was very nice but our highlight was the tour we booked with Bayu the following day. He is a great guide and showed us all the highlights of Padang. We had a great time. He also gave us great tips for the rest of our journey. It was the perfect start to our Sumatra trip! Thank you Jen and Bayu!
