"Kind and warm hosts"

8.0

Immanuel & Melvin were super friendly and helped us with transfer from makassar to rantepao. When we arrived late at the evening, they made us food for dinner and helped us finding a torajean guide for the funeral and a hiking trip. Besides we can recommend the breakfast with the tasty pancakes, fresh fruits and juice.

The only disadvantage is that the walls are thin and you can hear almost everything from the other rooms or the churchservice being broadcasted early in the morning.

Emanuel and his son Melvin are amazing hosts and make you feel at home. They will help you with everything (transportation, activities). The breakfast is excellent and the view of the rice fields is great. Great location. The room downstairs is a little bit noisy when there are other guests walking down the stairs, but if you go to sleep early you will not be bothered by it.

"Nice homestay with a beautiful view on the ricefields and a very kind host."

10.0

Beautiful homestay, with the best host. Pak Imanuel is very kind and helpful and makes the best pancakes!! The view from the homestay is amazing as it is right in the middle of the ricefields. The rooms are also nice and clean. If you go to Toraja, stay there;)

"Good"

7.0

Emanuel, the owner, is so friendly and helpful. He's fantastic! The homestay is beautifully located, in the rice fields, just outside the town, with fantastic views. 10 min walk to the town center.

We stayed in the room at ground level, and the sound of other guests walking upstairs can get pretty loud. There's also the noise from the surrondings in the early morning, starting with the church from 5-5.30 am.

"Great location and comfort"

10.0

You are standing right at the edge of a rice field with a beautiful mountain on the back of it. Lovely sunset from your coffee table. Room and toilet are spotless. Comfortable bed, comfy and bright room and strong WiFi. The owner and his son are incredibly welcoming and friendly. We felt like at home. Free coffe and tea, which is always super nice to have. No hot water available but they arranged a bucket of steaming hot water for us one rainy day that we came back soaked wet. Location is also great. Quiet yet close to city centre

"Our stay at „The Singki Home Family“ was absolutely perfect! I highly recommend it and I would definitely stay there aga"

10.0

Immanuel and his son Melfin are super nice and courteous. I rarely met such open and friendly people like them. The house is right in front of a few rice fields. The view is beautiful! Arrival: we arrived at night (5 a.m.) at the bus station in Rantepao and they picked us up. The rooms: are simple but everything you need. A little table for your stuff and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom: is clean, there is only cold water, but if you ask Immanuel he will bring hot water for showering. But during the day a cold shower is nice anyway, so we didn’t need hot water during our stay. The breakfast: Immanuel prepares it himself freshly every morning. It is amazing!! There’s fresh squeezed fruit juice, tea and coffee, fresh fruits (for example Mangosteen) and a coconut pancake. There’s also an european breakfast version (Toast etc.), but I definitely recommend the Indonesian breakfast, it is so tasty. :) Activities: Immanuel is also a Tour-Guide. I highly recommend visiting a funeral with him. At first it was weird for me, the thought of going to a funeral where I don’t even now the deceased person. But at the funeral everyone was really happy to see us, it wasn’t weird at all. It was very interesting to see these, compared to us completely different, rituals and traditions. Immanuel speaks very well English and he knows everything so if you want to learn something about the Torayan people and their traditions just ask him. All tour guides have fixed prices in Toraya. For two persons we paid 450000 IDR. Absolutely worth it, the tour with him was the highlight of our trip! We rented a scooter from Immanuel, it costs 150000 IDR a day, which is a little bit more expensive than in the city but the scooter is brand new and has good power, so the little price difference is definitely worth it. 90% of the streets are very good, so it was great just cruising from village to village and visit the famous graveyards. The landscapes in Toraya are hauntingly beautiful!!

"Value for money: 100"

9.0

The host was absolutely accommodating, super friendly, and helpful. The location was amazing, super close to the main road, and the front views of the property were really beautiful. It's worth the money, decent and clean room and bathroom considering the price. I got 2 tea times and was able to check in early. Would recommend this property if you're on a budget.

- Pillow was a bit too hard - There was no sign around the main road, so you might need to contact the host to get there - The dirt road to the property can be a bit slippery when raining
