Munroe Meadows

The rooms were clean an spaceious, the homemade food was really delicious and the homestay was located in a quiet and peacefull location. The host family was kind and helped us book various activities as well as transportation. Overall we had a great experience at Munroe Meadows.

Good Ambience, Excellent service

Can’t recommend this place enough! Lovely big and clean room, amazing location and great value for money. The couple that host are so friendly and helpful, they set us up with a sunrise and sunset canal trip, took us on a temple visit, lent us their bicycles, local tour of the village on a motorbike etc. Food was delicious - especially the appum! We felt right at home with their lovely family. We could only stay 1 night but they made us feel really welcome and gave us such a unique experience - one we will never forget! Thanks for having us, what a dreamy stay - we will be back!

Nothing - all amazing.

Ajith and Anjana were really wonderful hosts and helped us all through our stay. A magical boat ride early in the morning to see the magnificent sunrise was breathtaking. Thé room was super the cleanest and nicest we have stayed in in Kerala. Thé meals were cooked to perfection and WE were asked each day what we would liké to eat. Amazing that After only 2 days we were sad to leave our amazingly friendly hosts. A Real gem of a place. A very spécial thanks to them for taking me to the doctors and staying with me for the translations when I had the flu.

Our stay was just perfect.

Our stay was wonderful. Enjoyed every bit of the property. Anjana and Anjit are very friendly and took good care of us while we were there . Property is very neat with all the tress around makes it so mesmerising. Anjit showed us all the medical and fruit plants around his property . Anjana cooked very tasty home food for us. We enjoyed the breakfast very much( kandala curry n appam)We wanted to stay longer but due to other bookings we couldn’t extend our stay there . We are planning to visit again the property along with our parents .

Limited options for Dinner. I wanted to have fish curry and as my husband doesn’t eat sea food we ordered chicken curry too with apppam . However we were told they can make only one curry and rice instead. So I had to go with only chicken curry . Probably next time I will insist Anjana to cook fish curry for me .

Beautiful, location on green Monroe Island, close to canals and the lake, and to restaurant options. Spacious, airy and clean rooms, and generally a very peaceful property with hammock to chill out in. The MOST delicious homemade Keralan food, and very kind and generous hosts (Ajith and Anjana).

Very nice place, simple but super clean, bestiful spot in the heart of the island. The hostels are a very nice couple who will look after you all the time. Great Value for the price you pay.

The beautiful homestay was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The room was perfect for us. The location in a small street on the island gives the island vibe we were hoping for - but still, it is easily accessible with a TukTuk. Using their free bikes you can explore the island or try local restaurants. The heart of this place is the lovely local family running this place. With joy they helped us planning our stay - organising tours, providing free bicycles and helping us with the train for our next destination. The included local breakfast with delicious Apem is very tasty and we looked forward to it. If needed, you can also get lunch and dinner on your terrace!

It was my best accommodation so far during this trip: (really) big room, lovely host, great food. Nothing to complain. Highly recommended!
