Sri Bhavan Ella

Quiet place with a delicious breakfast. The owner doesn’t speak well English, but she’s super helpful. We had a warm welcome. Super easy to walk over there through the train track. Love Ella city !

The lady was so sweet and lovely, and made amazing breakfast and gave good travel recommendations. The place is nice and quiet, and very close to the street with all the restaurants and shops (2 minutes walk over the train tracks). Great spacious room with a warm shower.

I was alone, and the walk over the train tracks at night is pitch black, but as it's only 2 minutes it wasn't so bad, just make sure you have a flashlight. There were quite a lot of dead ants, but the lady sweeped them away every day.

Nice place just above the train tracks (was not an issue for us, there are not that many trains and none during the night), which made for a fast trip to the main road. Very close to many many restaurants and shops, cooking classes and so on. The host is an elderly woman which is super nice and makes great breakfast (she even noticed us not being big on papayas and from that day on we got pineapple). Very accommodating.

Overall, the place was nice (no aircon, but we had fans), but our room had an issue with ants (the host explained and cleaned our room daily, so it was ok for us), as they covered the floor (dead ants basically). They were harmless but just be aware of the fact. The other room did not have any issues whatsoever!

I loved EVERYTHING about this place. The location is perfect, it's only a 5 minute walk from the town center (you walk on the train tracks to get there which is super cool!) but it's far enough that it's very peaceful! The owner is a wonderful kind hearted lady who is helpful in every way and makes delicious Sri Lankan breakfast! The room was clean, well maintained, has a mosquito net, hot water, toilet paper, towels provided, a fan (AC is not needed in Ella), and GREAT WIFI. It's also walking distance from the train station itself. I will be staying here anytime I come to Ella in the future. 100/10 Recommend this place especially for solo female travelers!

Perfect location and owner. Beautiful view from the terrace, excellent breakfast. The room has everything you need. I was surprised by the hot water because in Sri Lanka it does not happen often.
