Sri Bhavan Ella

This was a cute basic homestay style room and the lady running was kind

Sadly, for us, cleanliness was a big issue, bed sheets were dirty and smelly when we arrived etc. We requested a change and the host did bring new ones. Hopefully this was an unfortunate incident given the rest of the good reviews.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean away from the noise of the center but only 5 minutes away on foot. Breakfast was nice and different everyday and she even packed it to have it on the train the last day. Highly recommend!

The mattress wasn't that great

Amazing little homestay nestled just far enough away from the hustle bustle without being disturbed. Sits just up from the train line which is great for accessing Ellas rock too.

I cannot fault this homestay at all, just a note to future visitors watch out for bats swooping in late at night 😂 provided a good laugh if anything

The rooma are not clean. The tea cup which we were offered to use had a big leech inside it. Blankets did not look clean either.

The location of this place is perfect. Close to the city but far enough to be very quiet and full of nature.

Wonderful host, she even packed us breakfast to bring with us on the train. The location is perfect to catch the train without needed a tuk tuk

Keep into account that this is a home stay. Don’t expect anything fancy but it has everything that you need!

Beautiful property 5 minutes walk from Ella town. Right across from train track. The nicest host we’ve had in Sri Lanka, fantastic breakfast

- incredible breakfast home cooked - very sweet and welcoming host - central and as clean as a Homestay in Sri Lanka can get - not too noisy at night so you can sleep well

Nothing baring in mind that it’s a Homestay, so you cannot expect a 5 star hotel comfort. You need to be open minded and adapt to have a wonderful local experience

I really loved the location, short walk to the main street and around there are many good restaurants too. The lady was also very friendly and nice, I would come again! Thank you
