Ha Giang Faithien Homestay

We loved our stay at Ha Giang Faithien Homestay and hope to return. It's a quiet, scenic property nestled up in the hills a little bit away from the main town, but with easy access to town by motorbike, taxi, or bicycle, which you can rent at the homestay. The owner, Anh, is extremely warm, generous, and accommodating, as is the rest of his family. The double rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the bungalow (where we stayed for one of two nights) has a private bathroom with a hot shower and a porch with lovely views of the river and surrounding mountains. The operation is more or less self-sufficient. Anh and his family built all of the structures themselves, and the meals are made from food raised on the property. Dinners, cooked by Anh's nephew Ling, are delicious and can be made vegetarian upon request. They also come with homebrewed rice wine. Anh went out of his way to make us comfortable, not only helping us arrange a one-day ride on the Ha Giang Loop and giving us a super late check out, but also patiently answering all of our many questions about the region, the Tay people, Vietnamese society, and more. It was truly enjoyable to stay here, and I would enthusiastically recommend to anyone.

I'm not sure I'd change anything. It's rustic in certain ways but that's part of the charm.

This homestay was the most welcoming I’ve been to so far. Everyone was generous, attentive and willing to communicate. I came for two nights and stayed the whole week. The family is very busy but when they had time they took us on adventures in the area. You get towels, hot shower, filtered water, and the food is really good! Having dinner with the other guest and the family was great and I ate way too much every evening.

This place was perfect, it’s a gem. we stayed there 2 nights and we come back one night after the Ha Giang Loop, it felt like coming back home. The owner and his family are so kind, welcoming and helpful. He helped us with transport, and to organize our itinerary for the loop. The family dinner feels literally like it, the food is amazing, the people we met there were so lovely, and the happy water flows 😉 This place is hidden in the middle of nature, just next to a river, it’s so peaceful, quiet, you can do small hikes around ! The beds are comfortable, hot water, you can have breakfast on the morning. The value for money is the best we had since the beginning of our trip. We would have loved to stay, one week just to chill there. We will definitely come back, we recommend this place 10000%. Thank you for everything, don’t change anything

Beautfiul homestay. The hosts kind and helpful. It is a peaceful place that put my mind to rest as soon as I stepped in. And dinner is so delicious! Thank you, I would sure love to come back and spend more time here.

Surrounded by nature, this delightful homestay is the perfect place to recharge. Ha Giang town is a 20min bike ride away, there are scooters and bicycles to rent - so getting around is easy. Anh is an incredibly warm and kindhearted host, going above and beyond making sure all guests are happy and have everything they need... In the evenings we gathered for a tasty dinner with happy water - it was a great way to hear local stories and meet the other travellers, you feel part of a family here. If you are lucky enough to stay in one of the beautiful bungalows by the river you will never want to leave…. Pure bliss. Looking forward to returning to Faithien homestay:)

Very helpfull hosts. I really enjoyed the evening meals good food and conversations. Its right by the river so perfect to pop down for a quick swim. They also have some great cottages overlooking the river.

Everything is exceptional but don't stay here because I want to keep it a secret! 🤣
