Oolala - Your lake house in the center of Udaipur

I felt immediately at home in this most wonderful gust house! Both the owners and the staff went way out of their way to make sure everything was comfortable. The rooms are very clean and gorgeously designed. I would stay there again in an instant. One of my favorite hotels ever-- and I have traveled all over the world. It is charming, safe and delicious! What more could a woman traveling on her own want?! I feel like I have life long friends in Udaipur!

We received a very friendly welcome by the lovely owners and were given a comprehensive introduction to the most important sights in Udaipur. You have to walk a few metres from the main road through into a narrow alley to reach the B&B. It is not possible to drive up with a vehicle. Our lake view room was nicely decorated with a great view. Cleanliness was perfect. The bathroom was very spacious with all accessories like in a high-end hotel. The location of Oalala B&B is only a few minutes from the city centre. Breakfast is offered with Indian and Western dishes, both very tasteful. At the end of our stay, we were surpised with a little memory gift. In essence, an exceptional accommodation.

OMG, so this was our first stay in our trip on our first time in India and wow, if you can plan your first trip to India to stay here you will have the most unique, loving & amazing welcoming ever. The owners of the place welcomed us with drinks & sat us down to give us a quick idea of the city & the things to do which was perfect because we only had two days & wasn’t sure what to do really, so pretty much they arranged everything for us & even scheduled us a yoga class next morning in the rooftop which was just perfect to start our trip like that. So the staff was outstanding & loving. Felt like walking into your own home. The room was amazing, cleaned, comfortable and with a beautiful view. The location was perfect, it was not in the middle of the chaos and the honking but just few steps away from it where it was more quite and calm to have a good night sleep and feel safe The food they cooked for us was delicious too. Definitely will stay here next time I’m in Udaipur and I highly recommend this place to anybody

We loved everything and the most humble part is when lovely asked us at the end if we had any feedback good or bad to please let her know that she wasn’t taking it personally but she wanted to accept it as a way to improve and do better, wish all business operates like that

The location and the owners are truly fabulous! I would stay again.

The price/value ratio was a bit off compared to our other similar stays in Rajasthan. Also, the to-go breakfast was not on par with the in-house.

The location overlooking the lake was spectacular, just a few hundred metres walk into town and all the sights. The owners were perfect hosts, the breakfast cooked to order. The house is situated in a quiet residential area, not reached by road but caretaker meets you in nearest car park and carries your bags the two hundred metres. The caretaker/cook/cleaner is there 24/7 and always helpful. We stayed in largest of four rooms and it was like a suite with dual aspect windows over lake.

Based on the reviews we booked this hotel, to be honest the price and reviews doesn’t match the expectations. The owners hospitality gets the good reviews. Next door is the luxurious Moustache Udaipur Verandah Hotel where you can have a beautiful breakfast/lunch/dinner overlooking the lake, we could even use their swimming pool. Prices of the hotel rooms are also cheaper.

The accommodation is a tiny home stay/hostel with hotel pricing. It’s hidden away in a side street where people life so early mornings we got woken up at 6am. Breakfast is served around a big table with other guests or in their living room/reception. If your into a small cosy house, this is your pick, if you want more luxury for a cheaper price try next door…

Oolala is a great homestay, that is walkable distance from all the main sites, but in a quieter residential area. The room was larger and clean with views onto the lake. The bathroom was clean and the water was hot. The homemade vegetarian breakfast was delicious, and one of the best breakfasts we had on our holidays, and welcome we received was the best had during our trip. Our hosts gave us great tips of restaurants to try for dinner and places to visit that werent in the lonely planet..they really care and want you to enjoy your stay in Udaipur to the max.
