The Haven at Charity House

Check in was seamless, the room was very comfortable, and it was very clean inside.

Slow drain in the shower, no power outlets in the bathrooms, no towel given, my code didn’t work immediately, and it was a little far from the main roads- definitely not close to stores.

The only thing that I found good was the price and location for the business I had to take care of there.

I am extremely disappointed with my stay and feel that the accommodations I received did not match the expectations set by the listing. To begin with, the room I was assigned was not the room shown in the listing photos. In fact, I later noticed the room I received appeared in a different listing, and even then, it did not look the same as it did in the photos. My experience started poorly when I was required to wait approximately five hours to check in because I was told early check-in was not available. After such a long wait, I expected to arrive to a clean and properly prepared room. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Upon entering the property, I immediately noticed signs that cleaning had not been completed. At the top of the stairs were cleaning supplies left out in plain view. There was a pile of swept-up trash left in the hallway, a broom leaning against my room door, and a trash bag sitting outside the bathroom. Inside my room, there was a trash can containing garbage, the floor appeared to have been only lightly swept, and there were old drink stains and spots that clearly had not been mopped. The room was also extremely hot. The listing indicated air conditioning, yet there was no functioning AC in the room—only a fan sitting in the window. After I complained, a window air conditioning unit was found in the closet and installed. However, the unit was dirty, with visible mold on the interior vents and blades. After attempting to clean it myself, I discovered it would only run for about ten minutes before shutting off. The bed was another concern. It was so soft and unstable that it felt as though it might collapse when I sat down. The comforter felt rough and itchy, and given the overall condition of the room, I was uncomfortable and concerned about the cleanliness of the bedding. The bathroom also required significant attention.

I had requested a room for 3 adults and only got a room with futon and a mattress on floor.

The only positive thing I could say was that the bed sheets seemed clean.

This place was filthy. Everything was communal, The bathroom was disgusting and there were NO towels. The refrigerator was completely stuffed with random expired crap. TV did not work, not at all, it didn’t even have a plug that fit. Half of the pictures on there website are fake. This was worse than camping. We payed for 2 nights, and left after 1. Requested a refund and never heard back.

The concept of this is great. Most travelers are in and out and on there way. Very nice location and peaceful stay.
