My wife, our 10-month-old son, and I had the pleasure of staying at Ayesha and Shiva's homestay for five nights during our travels. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality. Ayesha's welcoming demeanor made us feel instantly at home, and her attention to detail ensured that every aspect of our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Shiva, too, was a fantastic host, embodying the true spirit of hospitality. His friendly nature extended to our little one, and he was incredibly accommodating and great with kids. Their food, I must add, was outrageously good, adding an extra delight to our stay. Whether it was providing baby-friendly amenities or engaging in delightful conversations, Shiva's care for our family added an extra layer of warmth to our stay. Overall, our experience at Ayesha and Shiva's homestay was exceptional. We would wholeheartedly recommend it to any family looking for a cozy and welcoming accommodation in the area. Their hospitality truly exceeded our expectations, and we would rate our stay a perfect 10 out of 10. Thank you, Ayesha and Shiva, for making our visit unforgettable.

The perfect homestay! The owners are wonderful people and they did everything in their power to make our stay memorabel. They speak very good English and we had nice conversations with them and learned a lot about life in Sri Lanka. We also had enough privacy on our own little balcony. The breakfast and dinners they gave us were the best we had in Sri Lanka! There was so much delicious food we couldn't eat it all. We came as strangers, but left as friends. We had a lovely room with a private balcony and the bed was comfortabel. We also could use the big balcony with an amazing view. The place is quiet, but we could easily go to Kandy by taxi. We highly recommend this place!

Nothing. It was perfect!

We had an amazing experience. Starting from the view through the balcony, jungle sounds, fireflies in the garden at night and a wonderful family who makes you feel at home for a very reasonable price! Our host was so nice, they even went to train station to check tickets for train to Ella after our booking, few days before our arrival to Kandy. We had a wonderful generous breakfast and dinner for our stay and it was super delicious! Host gave us plenty of recommendations for our further trip as well as what to see in surrounding areas. They also recommended a great driver who was so kind and drove us everywhere we wanted, and price was fair. Overall I can say that this stay will be a memorable one. Wish you all the best and I hope to see you next time we are in Sri Lanka.

The view from the terrace and the food which can be ordered separately. Lady of this house should open a restaurant with fine Sri Lankan food. Honestly I’ve been in Sri Lankan for three months and her food was mind blowing.

Lack of AC in the bedroom, but the fan was okay. Internet was acting out a bit and not working in the room.

The owners were so so lovely! The stay was amazing! Breakfast and dinner were both delicious and they took very good care of us. Shiva even dedicated his day to us and took us everywhere in Kandy. Thank you both for making the stay so nice. We would recommend it to everyone!

Our host Ayesha could not do enough for us. So much care and attention . We stayed for four nights. We had all our breakfasts and dinners at Chathu House and every meal was varied and exceptional. The memory of breakfast and early evening drinks on the balcony with spectacular views will stay with me forever. Only a short tuk tuk ride to the town means you can enjoy your stay outside the bustle of the town. Highly recommend.

The owners Shiva & Ayesha are amazing, super friendly, funny and welcoming. They told us a lot about Sri Lanka and their traditions. Ayesha cooks the best food we had in Sri Lanka, don’t miss dinner and breakfast :) The room was very clean and modern and the view from the balcony was outstanding. It’s a beautiful place near by Kandy, where you can relax. Very unique and 10 out of 10 (!)

No words can describe how incredible our stay was with Ayesha and Shiva. Incredibly kind, thoughtful and so welcoming. The house and room were perfectly clean and the bed very comfortable. Our one regret: not tasting Ayesha's food which we were told is incredible.

The room is beautiful and very clean. Especially the mattress is super comfy. The house very nice. I got very good breakfast and dinner. To eat it on the balcony it made it even better with this view. Amazing hots, super friendly and helpful. Thanks very much for everything. 💖

The owners are very very kind and helpful (and speak good English!), they allowed us to check in early, greeted with sweets and tea and helped with the train tickets. The place has an amazing view and the hot water works fine. I recommend getting a dinner with them (also because there is nothing else really in vicinity) because it was delicious and plenty.

It’s a bit hard to reach on foot (possible but along a busy road).
