The house is beautiful - like you imagine a plantation house. The grounds surrounding the house are lovely. There is a small area outside you can walk around.

The house, the hosts and the food were all amazing. Definitely take the option of Lizzy cooking your dinner. We are from New Zealand and one of there daughters lives there. I have no doubt their adult children come home not just to see their family but to get some of her mums cooking! Also worth noting is one of us has a nut allergy and that was no problem to accommodate.

"Maison d’hôtes sublime au milieu d’une plantation thé , café , poivre et cardamomes ."

Accueil local tres sympathique par le couple de propriétaires de cette plantation , à l’écart de Thekkady et donc au calme ( ils ont même accepté de loger notre chauffeur durant 3 jours ) Les dîners concoctés par Madame sont un régal . Rapport qualité/prix imbattable pour le Kerala et une hospitalité indéniable . A réserver sans hésiter d’autant que la fameuse “Tiger Reserve de Periyar “ est un Must ….

Les photos du site ne mettent pas vraiment en valeur cette demeure coloniale …..!

"A wonderful home stay on the plantation"

you basically live with the family on a plantation, surrounded by cardamom, coffee, pepper, jackfruit etc not to mention the exotic birds that you can watch from your huge private terrace. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and everything is immaculate. This is a family who looks after its property. The food was amazing and it honestly felt like sitting down at your own family‘s place. We loved it!

Our stay af Alencherry plantation has been nothing short of extraordinary. The garden-fresh, homemade food was the best we've had in India, and the stunning home (very clean and comfortable) and spectacular surroundings made it all the more special. The kind hosts truly went the extra mile, helping us with organising trekkings in the nearby Periyar Tiger Reserve, arranging transfers, providing tips for local activities (martial arts performance), etc. Many thanks for this short yet truly enriching time together.
