Quaint & Quirky House Colchester Town Centre

I travelled across country to empty my mums flat in 24 hours, I was an exhausted wreck by the time I’d got to quant and quirky, I was made to feel most welcome by the hosts who went above and beyond, helping and checking if the was anything I needed or help with anything, The photo’s really don’t do this property justice.. The room was lovely and relaxing, Netflix on the tv eating an ordered Chinese take away I had a really good nights sleep, first sleep in 48 hours, woke feeling refreshed ready for my long long journey home again.. Even after care was amazing as I’d lost an item on my way home, I thought I’d left it in the room but Justine searched and they were no where to be seen.. I cannot rate Justine and husband enough as they were both amazing- thank you 🥰

The property is very unique.

the property will make you feel very awkward at least once and that might put many people off. Upon arriving I was stood at the door for 15 minutes before meeting the couple that will be staying in the small house at the same time as you. I was given the key for less than 4 hours before it was taken off me so I was essentially trapped in, I found that very strange as that comprised my safety and security and this is never disclosed within the booking description . I didn't complain as I'm not a fussy person but things got stranger as time progressed.My partner asked to use the loo, that is unfortunately all the way downstairs. This wouldn't be a problem normally but in this case it is very awkward as you're almost always guaranteed to be greeted by the couple downstairs. The male in the house was walking around topless to show us the facilities and I found that highly unprofessional. And you can hear them downstairs and exactly what they are saying so they can definitely hear you... The door is very loud at night and the walls are extremely thin , the couple will be sleeping in the room right next to you, every move you make is going to make you feel uncomfortable as you don't want to disturb them. And the birds are a bit off putting as they have a slight smell that traces through the home. You feel like an unwanted house guest and You shouldn't feel this way for a service you have payed for.

Great location with a nice little pub on the corner, close to town, fantastic host, made us feel very comfortable and at home. Room was clean and bed very comfy, would highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay again when visiting Colchester :-)
