Quaint & Quirky House Colchester Town Centre

Justice is a fabulous host - very kind and helpful. The bed is amazingly comfortable and I slept very well.

Hostess was lovely, really wanted us to feel at home and was nice to talk to. Cute cottage. The lovebirds and parrot downstairs were very cute and it was so homely.

Obviously parking in this area of Colchester is an issue, but if you use Butt Road Car Park, there's a short alley that comes out near the property. You can also use the MiPermit app to pay ahead for the next morning to avoid getting a ticket. The bathroom door broke while we were there, but that wasn't a big deal as you could still use the lock! It was fixed the next day. The walls are very thin and we did hear people's TVs until quite late, talking on the phone, also music very loud at 6.30am (all while trying to sleep from long journey), but these are just perils of living in an old cottage which is a terrace.

Great host and location

The room was really well presented and comfortable, along with the entire house. The host was really nice, told a little of the area and gave a fantastic recommendation for fish and chips in Colchester.

The room is on the small side and a little hard to move around in. The bathroom is on the ground floor and at the back of the property. This wasn't an issue, but for an introverted couple this felt a little awkward. Also the host's bedroom is right outside the guest bedroom, and the door slams loudly.

A lovely home away from home - warm friendly welcome to this lovely home, great location just a short walk from the city centre.

Wonderful hostess who was both interesting and fun. Clean room with very comfortable bed and well equipped. Quirky and very interesting decor throughout the house with some fascinating tales.

No on-site parking (understandable as it is a house near the centre of Colchester). Nearest car park wasn't too far away though and cheap for overnight parking. No en suite bathroom (once again, its a house so to be expected) - shared bathroom.

Justine is absolutely lovely and made us feel so welcome. Her house is indeed quaint and quirky, it certainly lives up to its name, we loved it! Fab location for visiting Colchester town centre, everything is within easy walking distance.
