"Great homestay"

8.0

We had a lovely bungalow on this homestay. It was very nice to have some long chairs with cushions to chill on our little decking outside. Great to have our own ladder to go straight in the sea from our bungalow. The snorkling around the island is nice, plenty to see, if you snorkel at the right time of day and the visibility is clear. Many little baby sharks outside our bungalow. Everyday at 4pm we have some snack and some amazing donuts! Such a treat in Raja almost to have a something sweets and so nice! Restaurant area is lovely and everyday at 6pm we get some WiFi and can connect with the rest of the world!

Food was ok. We had vegetables, fish, meat, and fruits every day. But it wasn’t enough for the whole homestay. Unfortunately some people serve themselves a big plates, and if you are last you get what is left. They don’t replenish dishes. Only one toilet and bucket shower for the whole homestay. We were full when we were there, which means one toilet for 12 people… not great. But overall we had a great time, amazing parrots and birds sounds plus if you are lucky, stars at around 2am are unbelievable!!! We never saw anything like it! So worth waking up and star at those enormous stars and galaxies!!!

"We had a great time on Nicks island and would always come back! Thanks to everyone 😊"

10.0

The homestay is located in a very beautiful lagoon with a stunning coral reef right in front of the bungalows. Sleeping so close to the sea is amazing. We could see baby sharks in the shallow water. Don’t expect luxury but compared to the standards in Raja everything was perfect, comfortable balcony and chairs and clean. The owner Nick is chilled and helpful all the time. He and his guys made an effort in showing us the amazing coconutcrabs at night time. You don’t finde them in many places.

"Wonderful location, really basic facilities. too basic for an old lady - 71."

3.0

Location was lovely, view over the sea and fishes swimming beneath the "restaurant". Breakfast bad, lunch ok if they had caught a fish, but usually an omlette , rice and overcooked vegetables. Dinner same. No beer

Food was just a cake or other made from packet stuff, very sweet and unhealthy. Never offered coconut or bananas although they were growing there. Coffee instant tea poor. electricity only in the evening, not enought to keep my kindle and laptop, phone charged. Wifi only one or two nights out of seven and only for an hour or so. No running water, only a scoop to was with, no basin to be able to wash clothes. the trip from Wasai was 2 hours in a very uncomfortable open boat which cost $25 each way. another couple had a delay o 4 hours when their boat engine conked out. the location and reef were great, but as there is nothing else to do it would have been excellent if they had kayaks for people to go across to the other island and explore.

We had an amazing adventure on Meos Ambower. Above all, Nick and his family are very nice people and try to fulfill every wish you have. At night, for example, they did not hesitate to bring us a chilled beer from the village on the next island, they stocked up on Fanta and Coca Cola, when they found out that we loved them, they took our son to fish with a harpoon on the open sea, they prepared the fish that our children caught from the moles/decks and etc. And this is what makes this accommodation special. Of course, the houses are above the water on a beautiful small island, they are all clean, with a mattress or a bed and a mosquito net. The toilet and the possibility of rinsing with water is basic, as in other homestays in this location, but everything is clean and constantly cleaned. There is plenty of food and it is very good, especially fish and homemade cakes. Fruit is served for lunch and dinner, coconut is available whenever you say you want one. In addition, we were lucky to have wonderful guests in other houses and together we enjoyed a wonderful time on the island and on some trips that we decided to go on together with them. Prices for shipping to Waisai and on trips are not exorbitant because they are really long distances. We definitely recommend a trip to the opposite island, where there are large beaches with very fine sand, gradual access to the sea, in which there are beautiful corals and is full of blue starfish right from the start.

"Beautiful place, that has no comfort and is hard to reach."

10.0

The setting of the homestay is magnificent, you can see and hear the bigger fish hunting smaller fish, right below your hut. Even baby sharks and stingrays can be seen. The full moon nights are otherworldly.

Please do know, that the boat ride is more than 2 hours in an open, one and half meter wide boat, full in the sun, on the heat of the day. This, after arriving by ferry from Sorong, which also takes more than 2 hours. The rooms are huts above the water, the bed is comfy, but for the rest there is no comfort. The toilet is very basic, but clean, the shower, is a bucket. The food is basic but good, and healthy. Despite that, the experience is super.

"Great spot for discovering Fam islands."

8.0

Nick is on top of everything and makes the whole stay smooth. He also offers very well priced snorkeling and adventure trips to nearby islands. Piyanemo is only 15min away and multiple amazing coral reefs are at a short boat ride distance. There’s a beautiful private beach on the other side of the island reachable with a short walk through the forest. House reef is lovely.

Food options were few and often on the spicy side.

"Loved being there"

9.0

The location is amazing. This really is a little slice of paradise. The food is all.home made and good, including homemade cakes and pancakes for breakfast. I asked for lots of vegetables each day and got that.

Be warned that the only way to get there is by a small boat. The cost of the transfer from Wasai to the hotel is a lot - 2,000,000 IDR (approx 135usd) each way regardless of the number of people. Make sure you factor that in to the cost of your stay. A 2 or 3 night stay could end up v expensive when youl add 270USD.. Nick the owner was mostly great but I had to refuse to leave at his convenience really early too. Communication was ok but not great.

"Raja Ampat Paradise!"

10.0

Meos Ambower was our favourite stop in Raja Ampat! It is absolutely beautiful and Nick is amazing and helpful host, the friendliest guy wee met on our trip. The snorkeling in front of our room was so good, we saw so much cool maribe life right from our room. The beaches across the way were some of the most beautiful I have ever seen. You must go and check out the coconut crabs while you are on the Island too, so cool. We wish we had more time here. We will be back for sure!

That we had to leave!
