1. Free breakfast and a good selection of items for breakfast. 2. Responsive owner who reply to text messages.

1. Wifi not stable on the top floor. 2. Water pressure for shower too low.

"A reasonably priced accommodation for students or solo travelers visiting the city."

7.0

It’s fairly close to the Met (22 minutes walking). Lafeya is a great host who is responsive and communicates well. Her place is decent for a solo traveler who’s spending most of the time out in the city and doesn’t get grossed out sharing a bathroom with strangers.

The neighborhood is overrun with litter and rats. With some homes in disrepair. There’s not many places to get something to eat or a convenience store within a short walking distance. I walked about 24 minutes to get to Broad Street where you can find some places to eat.

"Very pleasant but a bit pricey for its location and its type (this is not a hotel but rooms to rent)"

The owner was extremely nice and generous.

If you’re a solo female traveler like me, I would recommend taking an uber to the house after it gets dark. Nothing happened to me but I was a bit concerned while walking close to sunset time through the neighborhood

"It's alright---have the right expectations & read everything before booking"

4.0

I liked how private the room was and the access to streaming services. The TV in room #2 was very large. The bathroom was clean. The a/c worked fine.

The communication with the host could have been better. I was given a key code to enter the building but wasn't able to get it. I had to wait 15-20 minutes outside the building until I was able to enter. I had texted the host previously my approximate ETA so I assumed she would respond to future texts from me when I checked-in. Also (this is on me) but I didn't realize that I would be sharing a bathroom with others. Also, one of the Q&As on the website said it was self-serve "continental breakfast". When I heard this, I had something else in mind other than cereal, milk, bread & fruit. Since this was my first time using Booking.com, I assumed by "Luxury" in the title description that I would received timelier communication and a hot breakfast similar to a self-serve in a hotel (eggs, bacon, waffles, etc)... I was wrong. If you don't come in with those expectations, then you should be fine staying here. Also, while the neighborhood is safe, it isn't the nicest area in my opinion. There were these very large alleyways between buildings that give the place an "abandoned" feel. It's fine, but not conducive to relaxation (at least for me).
