Ocean villa

The place was immaculate! It was definitely the cleanest place we have stayed in Sri Lanka. It is a downhill 5-minute walk to the beach.

Our fan-only room was really hot during the night and it got stuffy. The guests in the room next door had a baby that started crying at 6:00 both mornings of our stay.

I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place. If I could give 0/5 stars for the service, I would, but the lowest possible rating is 1/5. The owner is rude and aggressive. He barged into our room late at night, demanding we turn off the A/C, even though I had specifically requested to keep it on. After that, we felt uneasy, worrying the owner might come into our room at any time, even when we weren’t there. Communication with the owner is difficult, and it’s nearly impossible to have a basic conversation with him. They also tricked us with the laundry service—don’t do laundry here! They charged us double what they initially quoted. Everything here has hidden extra charges, and nothing feels transparent. We never felt welcome or comfortable during our stay.

Rooms were clean, Wifi was okay, Short walk to the beach (3-4 minutes not as close as they state)

No hot water, no soap in the room (had to ask), the blankets are the size of large towels (we thought they were beach towels) would recommend checking Google reviews, no chair or anything to sit on in the room other than the bed.

Comfortable beds, clean rooms

When we came there they said they don’t actually have rooms in the ocean vila. They moved us to a different hotel and acted like it’s normal and like nothing happened. They gave us a room with bathroom outside of the room and said that it was private (it was in the hallway). When I asked for a room with bathroom inside they said that all the rooms in ocean vila have bathrooms outside of the rooms. So fyi - anyone can come in to them so it’s not actually private. The owners were kind people, but it was a mess and they acted like we are overreacting when they literally moved us to a hotel we didn’t book and then said it’s not their problem.

Loved it all

Lovely place very close to the beach, one of the cleanest places we’ve stayed in Sri Lanka the owners clearly take great care of the place. Breakfast included is a bonus and the hosts are really lovely & helpful

Our first night we stayed in a non AC room and it was quite hot , we then moved to an AC room the next day and was much nicer.

Friendly hosts, good location, and nice balcony view. Mosquito net provided, which is definitely needed. Small shared kitchen area with water machine. Quiet location and close to the beach and many restaurants. Beautiful little garden to chill in.

The wifi was very weak. Huge ants in the room every now and then. When it rains heavily, the water starts to flow in from the door. This was a bit of a problem, and we had to place our towels in front of the door. Pretty hot even with the fan on.
