Hermit Retreat

The location was absolutly fantastic! In the nature with a beautiful view and quiet. You could walk to Darjeeling downtown in about 30 minutes. The Hosts were super kind and helpful. If you want you can also order lunch or dinner. We definetly recommend this retreat!

To be honest theres nothing negative to say. Maybe one advice for people, who are not used to take the stairs: prepare yourself for a lot of steps! :)

Exceptional place and experience. Hermit retreat is situated just outside of darjeeling (walking distance about 30 minutes or taking a combination of shared taki and walking) at a calm area without the noise of the town. The deluxe room is very comfortable and offers a great view including sunrise out of bed. The hosts are very kind, friendly and help wherever they can. On top of all that the food is very tasty.

Everything was perfect: the food, the bedroom, the view, and most of all the amazing hosts. We will definitely highly recommend this place to everyone visiting Darjeeling and come back again if ever visiting the region again!

The best part of this homestay is the family. They helped me in every way whether it was the sight seeing or the information about the place and the culture. The food prepared was amazing and felt like home. Coming to the room, it was spacious, beautifully designed with wooden finishing and with mix of modern and earthy touch. An attached bath, balcony with an amazing view of lush green valley facing towards East Sikkim and Tiger hills. You get to wake up with the chirping of different types of birds. They have a backyard with various collection of different species of plants and not to forget the story of a hermit associated with it. 😊 And special thanks to Uncle and aunty who helped me so much.

Beautiful view nice hospitality. I really enjoyed the green mountain view its very nice place. And the owner is so nice person food is very nice they help sightseeing taxi's all are very good. I never forget that family.

Everything things is OK

The hospitality from the hosts was really good. Mr and Mrs Tsewang were super interactive and always available for any help. Mr Tsewang took us to the local sightseeing at a nominal cost. They arranged for a driver for mall road which 15-20 minutes away from the stay. The food served was fresh, hot and homely. We loved it as we had most of our meal at the stay in those 3 days. The location was really good the stay is little away from the town.. but has good motorable roads. Although getting up to the road from the stay via steps was a little tiring, we got used to it in a day. Mr.Padma the host was available in call, WhatsApp for any help. My family and I loved the place, food totally and we would definitely revisit.

The only thing I didn't like was a constant Cock-A-Doodle-Doo noise from a distance in the afternoon :) 😀 😃
