La Ciel Ella

The property has amazing view of Ravanna falls and the Ella hills. It is a 2 km walk from Ella city centre on a hill, but perfect to escape from the city noise and enjoy the nature. This homestay offers a warm endearing experience as the owners are extremely kind and warm. One is served with a huge range of home-cooked meals by locals which are absolutely worth not missing. They are also very accommodating to our needs and customisations if any.

Amazing view and good breakfast.

We came straight from our hike up Adams Peak when we realized that the accommodation is not accessible by car or tuktuk, but only via some very steep steps. Unfortunately, this was not mentioned anywhere in the description, otherwise we would probably have chosen a different accommodation for the day. We had a lot of ants in the room, which didn't bother us too much. Unfortunately, the humidity in the room was problematic, which is why all the walls and the ceiling had an enormous amount of mold. The smell in the room was also unpleasant and it was difficult to breathe at night. Unfortunately, it was not a very pleasant night. Due to the extent of the mold, I would unfortunately not recommend the accommodation to anyone.

This place has the best view whatsoever. From my room, which was the top floor, I had a view to the waterfall and valley. You can have the very nice breakfast on your teracce. You can walk down to the rails in 10 mins and walk to Ella or the other direction to waterfall. If you do - take the train from Kithala Ella to Ella (20rs) The owners are absolute darlings and will do everything to make your stay perfect. They have a Tuk Tuk service which is definitely competitive price wise and if you make a daytrip, and he wont take you to the touristy places if you ask him not to.

Even being fairly close to town, it's difficult to walk due to the steep street. The city Tuk Tuk divers rip you off (800rs) - so get the owners (Tuk Tuk Ella) phone number and get him to pick you up (400rs). The room could use a good cleaning. Warm water not existing - two drops coming out) Not sure where the facilities as kettle, toiletries etc. are - didn's see that.

The view was fantastic!! Amazing breakfast and lovely staff.

The trek up the stairs were a bit long but then we learned from the staff that you could take a tuk tuk all the way up instead of staying at the bottom of the stairs.

Beautiful view. Very kind owners. Strong wifi. Clean room. Standard Sri Lankan breakfast but it was a nice touch.

The room gets very damp and a dehumidifier would be a great addition.

We really like this pleace. The wifi was good. We need it for job so it was very important for us. There are were a few powercuts and wifi was not on, but in the rest time it was good enough. Bed linen if be honest was very old, but clean, with fresh smell. Breakfasts were good too. Thank you.
