La Ciel Ella

Had everything we needed including very fast fibre WiFi, awesome view of the mountains and waterfall. The host family are lovely, and also offered a good laundry service and the wonderful Madhu served us some tea in the afternoons. Breakfast was great - a mixture of Sri Lankan roti/pancakes as well as toast and fruit - plentiful and an excellent start to each day. We booked for 2 nights and stayed for 3, both Ella and La Ciel need at least 3 days - we would have stayed longer if we didn't have to reach our next destination. The property (like most in Ella) is on the side of a large hill, so has steps up to it - the price you pay for an awesome view at a reasonable price! We also used the hosts offer of a taxi service to Udawalawe which was reasonably priced.

I had a great stay here! There's an extremely beautiful view from the balcony of the room, you can watch mountains, a waterfall, and even the train passing far away. It's a perfect place to relax surrounded by nature. Just have in mind that there are some stairs to climb if you have mobility limitations. If not, the place is totally worth the climb! :D The internet is very fast! The breakfast is big, tasty, and served on your balcony. They also offer a tasty dinner at a very convenient price. And the best part for me was the local family running the place. They were extremely kind to me and they cared about me every moment. I'll miss them!
