Mambetron Homestay, Kri Island, Raja Ampat

The food not good and the personnel not so friendly... The location very good and kri island so beautiful.... and very quiet....

I woukd say I did no like anything apart from the location and the staff which is nice. I woukd not recommend any of my friends this places. I am listing all things that have ample room for improvement. 1. The boat of the Homestay did not have a roof so the sun was a unbearable during the central gours of the day. Everyday we asked for a boat with roof, everyday they said it will be solved by next day and next day there was no roof cover on the boat. 2. Rats: we spotted two rats, one in the kitchen and one in our room. 3. Kitchen: the kitchen is really dirty. 4. Food& beverages: the food is little varied and they do not offer either soft drinks or beer, neither any other food apart from breakfast-lunch-dinner. 5. Common spaces: the common spaces are uncomfortable, non-existent (apart from the dinning table outside and covered. The wood benchs did not have any cushion at all. 6. Water: There is no hot/ or warm water, the shower has no pressure. 7. Huts/ rooms: the rooms are very dark. The insect protection sheets surrounding the beds have holes on them and are dirty. They change our bed linen just once after 5 days. 8. Noise: on high tide the waves will break on a wooden wall they built below the huts disturbing our sleep. We left one day earlier because of everything I relate here.

Great location, friendly staff, there is a beautiful reef nearby you can snorkel every day for free. You can also book many excursions here. It was nice that the wifi worked in the evening and it was pretty good.

I had to wait more than 2 hours for a transfer from Waisai

The rooms were spacious, we had a room with one double bed and a single bed. The rooms have their own bathroom but make sure to bring your own toiletries since there’s no soap or shampoo, etc. Like many places on Raja Amat, it’s a basic accommodation that has everything you need :) our balcony had two hammocks and small table with two chairs (lots of space) to sit so it was nice for both me and my partner to relax there and watch the sunset. The property is conveniently located between two dive sites (Yenkoranu and Soul Scuba) probably like 10-20 min walk to each. Also, it’s located on Mambetron reef perfect for snorkelling and diving (huge plus) - clear visibility and lots of sea life. The accomodation has snorkelling gear to rent. Food - it’s my second time visiting RA and the homestays will serve similar food. There will always be white rice, sometimes fish or meat, veggies, and some fruit (watermelon, papaya, grapes, etc) so it’s important to keep that in mind that there won’t be a massive variety especially since you’re visiting an island and options are very limited. Food was good here though, we enjoyed it. If you stay here, give lots of love to my fur-friend Coral - he was the sweet playful puppy (and my favourite part of staying here) at the Homestay.

I’d recommend getting new towels, some of ours had stains and holes - this was not a major issue but only a small recommendation.

The location was perfect to visit kri

Front ocean bungalows, quiet and peace on the island with possibility to snorkel and join dives with the nearest scuba diving schools.

Poor choice and inadequate quantity of food for all the guests (plain rice and some fish or chicken, almost nothing for breakfast). Rooms are dirty and full of bugs especially at night (and their excrements). Cold shower only, no sink. No one will clean your room during your entire stay, you need to beg for toilet paper and to get clean towels. Electricity (and of course WiFi) are available from 6:00pm to 6:00am only which makes impossible to go to the bathroom during the day as there’s no natural light at all (and Other Homestay nearby didn’t have the same issue). Not for cozy nor demanding people at all.
