"There are comparable homestays with a better value for money in the area. We won't return here."

4.0

Very nice location on the excellent and healthy coral reef of the northern Kri/Mansuar. Quite a low price (but no so good "value for money") as with some neighbouring comparable homestays we think. A surprisingly good and tasty meal (except for breakfasts, they are extremely simple - just one kind of buns/cake plus one kind of fruit).

Accomodation standard - rooms are very simple and dark and the en-suite bathroom/toilet really look ugly. Cleanliness - rooms are never cleaned, towels are never changed etc. (remember : there is no AC there so everything is always wet and hot). The exceptionally nice sea in front of the homestay was full (but really full) of rubbish (esp. plastic waste) for most days of our stay (we spend there 7 nights).

"Excellent. Beautiful snorkeling spot."

9.0

We had an excellent stay here. We ended up staying for 6nights instead of 2. Excellent location. You can swim and snorkel right away from outside your room. And it was actually one of the best snorkeling spots. The service was excellent. The hosts helped us a lot with booking tours and other stuffs. They even let us lent some fins for free. Food was great as well. Nothing to complain about. All in all, it was an excellent stay. Thank you Thina and family. I miss my hammock already.

I have to think hard for this. Of course you can always find something to complain about. No cold drinks, mostly fish for lunch and dinner. But hey we're in an island where electricity is only available at night time. So we came prepared and lower our expectations. And ended up with nothing to complain about.

This homestay is run by capable, friendly and helpful people. You can observe a beautiful sunset from here (there even is an almost horizontal palm tree growing out over the water right next to it). Food was among the best I had in Raja Ampat.

"Bine"

8.0

The location of the location is excellent, at the water's edge, with a wonderful view towards the sunset and towards the other islands. The staff, although they do not speak English, tried to fulfill our every wish. Breakfast consisted of pastries, and lunch and dinner consisted of rice with fish, vegetables and fruits. All were very tasty. There is always water, tea and coffee at your discretion. The bungalows were equipped with their own bathroom with toilet and shower. There is the possibility of carrying out several activities around the location and on the neighboring islands.

The bungalow is minimally equipped and is not insulated, so it is drafty when the wind blows stronger and insects and lizards can easily enter. The bedding should be changed for those staying more than three nights and a hanger or a closet would be necessary to put your clothes and other things without having to hang them on the walls or outside. There was a lot of humidity and a bad smell in the bathroom, the floor being permanently wet and it would be advisable to have products for sanitizing the toilet bowl. Gasoline is very expensive, and transport to the other islands is very expensive. In conclusion, the price is very high for the facilities offered, but it is compensated by the beauty of the place and it is good to come accompanied by friends so that the time is spent cheerfully, and the transport and excursions become convenient.

I spent the most amazing holidays there. Tina is an incredible cooker, the food was amazing. She is also really kind and helpful. The room is also really nice, with the best view for sunset and sunrise. Really clean, water and electricity working great. I recommend 100% and I’ll definitely come back to this paradise.

everything was perfect

"Very good"

The location is great and has a nice vibe. Excellent reef for snorkeling right outside. Wide variety of boat-tour options.

All of Kri has rats. At night they frequently visit the bungalow. Breakfast usually consist of some sort of cake.

"Simple but beautiful homestay."

8.0

The hosts of the homestay are very helpful yet quite shy so if you need something extra, Tina and her husband will do their best to accommodate your request. Bungalows are basic but they have private bathroom with toilet and shower, which is very good as majority of the homestays have sharing facilities. Electricity runs every day from 6pm till 5 am. Beds are fitted with mosquito nets but mine was full of holes, so I had to alter them with few knots. The porch has sitting area with table and two chairs and two hammocks to relax. Food was great, could be more varieties of it but it was very tasty. Drinking water, tea&coffee is available tnroughout the day. One advise, dont bring any food or snacks into the bungalowas, rats are often visiting your bungalow during the night and would eat them. On Kri, rats are quite common issue so if you'll have some visitors during the night, dont freak out, just clap your hands and scared them off. On Kri island there is no shop so if you want something extra, bring it with you and make sure its stored properly or hanged on the string. Beer and sodas are not always available (large can of Bintang 80K) if they dont have it, try next door Yenkoranu dive shop and homestay. You can also arrange a pick up from Waisai to the homestay with them. Boat cost 800K IDR one way. Gasoline ia very expensive there! In general, we really liked this place but there is a massive room for improvement but I do understand that they are doing their best! Snorkelling is great just outside your bungalows, there is a great coral reef, just watch our for corals and sea snakes. Under water life is incredible! We saw so many fish spieces, turtles, sharks etc. The best diving and snorkelling place to be. They also will help you to organise some trips if you like. So all over all experince was amazing. If you wanna experience native way of living for a little while, this is the place to be!

Maybe more attention to cleaning of bungalows and change the bed sheets more often.

"basic stay but on one of the most beautiful places you can imagine"

8.0

amazing view from our room. the housereef is amazing! the best we have seen in Raja Ampat! good beds and your own bathroom is a luxury in Raja Ampat. tours are very affordable compared to other places we have been.

we didn’t sleep so well because both nights there was a lot of disturbance because of hard noises. the first night there was some karaoke not far from the homestay and the next night there were people screaming in the middle of the night.

"Very basic accommodation, but lovely hosts and meals, and good location."

7.0

Staff were lovely, the food was great, and we really enjoyed chatting with other travellers around the shared dining table at mealtimes. The location was also handy for access to scuba diving activities (near to Soul Scuba).

We expected the rooms to be basic, so this was fine, but one or two small things could have helped make our stay a little more comfortable, eg. a mirror in the room or bathroom would help with shaving and putting on contact lenses (important for divers who wear glasses). Having a small table on the balcony would also have been helpful (though some bungalows had this).
