Ella Nature valley homestay

La ubicación estaba genial, estaba a 5 min en tuktuk del centro, pero apartado del bullicio. Y el trato de la familia, tanto del padre como del hijo fue immejorable. Nos llevaron a varios sitios con su coche sin tener que buscar tuktuks ni taxis que nos lleven. Madrugaron para llevarnos a ver el amanecer a Ella’s Rock. También nos ayudaron con la colada. Siempre se avanzaron ante cualquier necesidad ya sea de coche como de otras cosas. La factura te la envian por whatsapp y queda todo super claro. El desayuno muy completo y muy rico.

Las instalaciones estan un poco viejas, sobre todo del baño. El agua del grifo salía por el suelo y quedaba todo bastante mojado. Al estar en la naturaleza se colaron algunos bichos, como es normal.

Wat hebben we hier genoten de gastheer was fantastisch! Ook de zoon is geweldig, hij heeft ons de hele dag meegenomen naar allerlei mooie plekken. Wil je s avonds naar het drukke Ella dan brengen zij je. In de ochtend een heerlijk ontbijt gemaakt door de moeder. Dit is echt een 10 waard. Bedankt voor de mooie tijd.

The host family are super friendly and obliging. We got so much amazing advice about where to travel, and how, and really appreciated the assitance in getting to and from places. Loved our balcony views over the rice fields, and the relative quietness of the place (in contrast to the hectic and loud Ella town). The breakfasts were generous (please note; the breakfast cost is 1000R p/person, we didn't expect it to be quite that much) with toast, pancakes, fruit, eggs, tea & coffe (and blended fruit juice on request). A sweet family who pretty much keep to themselves.

This isn't about the house per se, but as it is 1.5k out of town, it is necessary to use a tuktuk. The tuktuk drivers in Ella are out to get the tourist dollar and swindle to their heart's content. Our advice; find a tuktuk driver who will drop you home for 500R and then use that driver for the duration of your stay. We left a phone number with the host of a super friendly and honest tuktuk driver. If you use him, say Hi from the New Zealanders!!

La família que lo regenta fue muy hospitalaria, el hijo del propietario nos recomendó varios lugares de interés por los alrededores y nos llevó con su propio coche a un precio muy razonable. Desayuno con productos típicos de Sri Lanka muy abundante. Habitación grande y muy cómoda y con una terraza super agradable con vistas a campos de arroz. Nos hubiera encantado quedarnos más tiempo. La zona es preciosa.

The hosts are very friendly, always ready to help. I liked that they organized a free transfer from the station and back, the owner brought clean water for free. There is an incredibly beautiful view of the rice field and mountains

Internet connection was not perfect) it was okay for work, but not for zoom calls

Very attentive and welcoming, they greeted us with coffee and also served a great dinner. The place is calm and peaceful – perfect for relaxing.

We were very lucky to book this property. What a great family! The room was perfect with an independent entrance. Very close to town. We also arrange a tour around and the price was very reasonable. Vihanga took us to the most popular places in Ella and his conversation was very interesting.He speaks very good English.His parents are very friendly and also his sister. We had dinner one night and food was delicious.

The owner was very friendly and kind, providing advice and logistical help (at a cost). It was good to be outside of the busy part of the town, surrounded by vegetation. We had a nice dinner prepared by the lady of the house.

Although about 2km away from Ella, the house is next to the road and at night the noise of the tuk-tuk’s ruined my sleep, despite the earplugs. If you’re not a light sleeper I guess that should not be an issue.

We had a great stay at Nature Valley Homestay, the room was a good size and had a balcony entrance which had great views over the surrounding fields. The setting is amazing. But what makes this place so good is the host Priyantha and his family. We were collected from the train station, could be dropped off whenever and wherever we wanted, and they did great breakfast and dinner, even eating food grown out of their garden. And we got sent away with homegrown cucumbers. They are very friendly and hardworking people and we enjoyed being able to spend time talking to them. The location is 5 minutes drive from Ella but enough out the centre that you are surrounded by greenery. I’d recommend this place to anyone.

Maybe the bathroom needs a deep clean but it was good for us and the price we paid.
