Dreamscape home stay

The house is clean, there is a terrace with an incredible view.

The host and his family are very nice people. They welcomed us with a delicious cup of tea. Thank you for hosting us in your house. The location of the house is great. It is 5 minutes to the city center by tuktuk. I understand that there are two rooms, we stayed in the smaller room. We did not have a nice view, however, the view from the dining hall is great.

I know that this is a guesthouse, not a hotel, but I had high expectations based on the reviews. I would like to write my honest opinion for future guests so that they can make an informed decision. One area that needs improvement is cleaning. There was mold on bathroom walls. There were spiders and spider nets in our room and even in the mosquito net. We had to clean the spider nets in the mosquito net to sleep comfortably. There were even more spiders and nets in the dining hall ceiling. I think this issue can be resolved easily by cleaning the rooms carefully. The other issue was the breakfast. We had dal, bread, tea, and few pieces of fruit. This was the most limited breakfast we had in Sri Lanka. Later, we noticed that we could order additional breakfast items by paying extra money. I wish this was communicated to us at the beginning. We would not mind ordering additional food. We thought more food would come, again based on reviews, it did not happen. The towels were small. Soap would be nice in the bathroom. Finally, the stairs to the house is dangerous. They should be fixed.

The family was just amazing. They smile a lot and were so polite. We felt like at home. I never forget this warm feeling. The breakfast was really tasty, everything was home made. With tuk tuk it takes around 5 minutes to get to the Kandy Sacred Tooth Temple. The view from our balcony was excellent. You feel like above the city.

Very lovely people! Mahesh and his family opened their home to us and were very welcoming. We had some great conversations and felt truly at home. The room was simple but very clean and had everything we needed! There is a nice view from the balcony. Thank you Mahesh.

Amazing homestay with a lovely family! We felt welcomed straight away into their gorgeous home with a cup of tea. The views are very nice and great location for cafes/restaurants. We had a home cooked meal which was delicious, the best mango curry and sambol we’ve had in Sri Lanka! Room was very comfortable. It helped having the host’s cousin pick us up from the train station in his tuk tuk and show us a few of Kandy’s sights at affordable rate. Would definitely recommend for a lovely homestay experience!

This homestay is run by the sweetest family! As soon as I arrived they welcomed me into their home and couldn’t of been more helpful. Mahesh organised a city tour by tuk tuk for me, and the mother cooked me the best dinner and breakfast! After dinner we even went outside and lit some fireworks for the new years celebrations. The room and bathroom was great, and the view is amazing! Would highly reccomend staying here!
