Meas Family Homestay

It was an honor and privilege to be guest of the Meas family. Linda is so thoughtful, knowledgeable, hardworking and an excellent cook. Phonn and Oun, mom and dad, are so kind and welcoming. Phonn brought us our first dinner, Banh Chheo, the savory crepe that took a lot of effort to prepare. Next door to the homestay is a small one-room school and a weaving centre producing beautiful quality pure cotton products such as scarves, kitchen towels, table runners… Very quiet and peaceful place. Highly recommended

This is an exceptional place and what makes it so is the warm, welcoming, and lovely family. Our host,Linda, speaks perfect English and so communication is easy. Our bungalow was spacious and comfortable. The price included delicious meals. Linda graciously let me watch her cook and helped teach me how to prepare several local dishes. We rode bikes in the surrounding countryside, made an excursion to the local market and a nearby temple complex, but what was best was the relaxing time we spent in the family compound. We extended our stay several days and could have stayed longer. Our time there added a very special memory to our Cambodia travels.

Staying here was one of the highlights of our three week trip to Cambodia. We hadn’t been sure about coming but had wanted a taste of the countryside and we are so glad that we did come. The setting is rural and beautiful and there is lovely walking/cycling along quiet lanes, populated by occasional small houses, little farm holdings, with fields with cows in, and rice and growing. The homestay is run by Linda who was incredibly friendly and welcoming and speaks brilliant English and we could not have been better looked after. The food was out of this world delicious and plentiful and three meals were included in the price of the accommodation for one night so it was an incredible bargain, we thought. There is lots to do, such as looking at the local weaving initiative (which makes lovely scarves and tea towels, and generate money for older women and sending local children to universities.) The rooms were comfortable and spacious and the shower had lots of hot water. This place is really worth a visit!

Linda is an incredible host. She will welcome you in the best possible way, whether in a magnificent setting or for her excellent cuisine. An unmissable stop that you will not regret for a second! A thousand thanks Linda!

We felt very welcome, really at home. The farm is a fabulous place to enjoy the Cambodian countryside. The meals were with local products and delicious. They supported us with transport to our following destination.

Difficult to find, narrow dirty road to reach the property.

My friend and I loved our time with the Meas Family! It was restful, the food was exceptional and the family were so lovely and kind. We loved staying at the property and learning how to make soap and cook with Linda. We also enjoyed Hammocking and playing with the cats!

The family were welcoming, helpful and showed me around the farm explaining the different varieties of mango they grow, and outlining the soap making process. The included dinner and breakfast were terrific and included fresh picked mango. The room had a couch out on a big porch for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful atmosphere of the farm. When I arrived they had a large bottle of cold water ready for me which was true trail magic after hours of riding bike in the afternoon sun.

The WiFi connection was a bit weak in my room but worked fine from the common area.

Very helpful family. Went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable.

Out in the country so there were insects, bats, lizards and other creatures around/in the room.

Linda is a wonderful host. Her and her family made me feel very welcome. She organised a Tuk Tuk to pick me up at the train station and bring me to the property as well as a trip to Phnom Da. She included two wonderful meals which so far are the best meals I’ve had in Cambodia. Great place to get off the beaten track. Just wish I could have stayed longer.
