Janaka's House

Janaka and his family were very welcoming, friendly and provided a nice, clean and comfortable place to stay. The breakfast each morning was very tasty. The location of the property was only a short walk away from the beach and turtle point. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Janakas house :)

Great place to stay in Dickwella! Sandy beach and nice bay great for swimming is just 2 minutes away on foot. The property is very nice and clean, there is everything you need for comfortable stay. The hosting family are the nicest people, and food is amazing.

The place has an amazing location. It is just near the turtle point and very accesible to Dikwella beach which is really huge and calm beautiful beach. For people who don’t like the crowd of Hiriketiya i think this place is a gem. The family is sweet and the rooms were really comfortable and clean.

- very good price value - very social and helpful host - good location (shop/samosas just in front, close to beach) Recommendations: visit Talalla beach (~15min by bus, pic below). Beach-bars with sunbeds are mainly located at the east-end of Dickwella beach (~2km)

- Initially quite hot in the room, but with ceiling-fan installed midway during my stay and opening windows after ~7pm it was quite ok!

Our absolute favorite stay/place on our travel through Sri Lanka!! The family running the place is super good hearted, always there for you and welcoming. The room was really clean, the beach directly over the street, and the whole atmosphere at their place was great. So sad we only had 4 Nights.. we will (hopefully!) come again!

We had an amazing stay here! The owner and his family are super kind, gave us a welcome smoothie and some extra starfruit when we left. It was a delicious breakfast, he even cleaned our tuktuk without asking!

Very clean and well equipped place. It is located close to a nice beach where you can swim and see turtles. The best thing about our stay was the friendly host and his family. He helped us out with everything and even picked us up from the bus station for free. He had good recommendations for the area and brought us to a restaurant with cheap local food. The breakfast was very delicious and there was a laundry service. Can highly recommend this place and would always come back!!

Janaka and his family are super friendly and supporting. They give information about anything, from places to visit and restaurants to go to. We did feel home and very cared for. We did snorkel with turtles in the morning, the beach is just a few minutes walking distance from the accommodation. The room was tidy and quiet, the bathroom has hot showers and the breakfast was delicious. Janaka has helped us and brought us to the doctor when my mom did hurt her foot. The price of the rooms are fantastic and so is the family! We would definitely recommend this accommodation and come back again!

Janaka's house is a lovely spot very close to the beach and turtle point, you can see the turtles swimming in the morning. Very friendly staff and family. The room was nice and clean. I crashed and lost my drone when filming near the rock temple and Janaka was so helpful and knew a local who was great at climbing trees and was able to help me retrieve my drone from the top of a very tall tree in the jungle, am very thankful for that 🙏 definitely recommend this lovely spot 🙂

The host was very very nice and the breakfest was delicious. Also nice was the room and perfect mosquito net. Highest recommendation!
