Wonderful stay and the best breakfast we had on our Sri Lanka trip!

Amazing views, easy to get to town via the railway line, big spacy room with own bacony, lovely breakfast on above terrace.

Shower and water pressure really need sorting. Also had 3 times same breakfast, could do with variations even though very good breakfast. Not much interractions with owners.

The view on the balcony was the only good thing about this property, however the fairy lights on the balcony didn’t even work.

The place smelled so bad, I’ve never experienced anything like it before. Huge smell of sewage coming from the bathroom, worse than bathrooms I’ve smelt at festivals. Even with the bathroom door closed at night time, I was waking up to the smell. The sheets were dirty and the two bath mats were filthy. The room was at the very front of the building, the door and front wall were mostly glass and there were open slats at the top of the doors and windows meaning you could hear every noise during the night The breakfast service was so slow despite having 3 staff members to serve only 6 people. We were asked by the staff 5 times would we like tea/coffee and every time we would say yes and they would forget to bring it. It took 50 minutes to get tea. When my tea came the family beside me had been waiting for so long to get their tea that I shared mine with them. There was also no one at reception, we were given a number to text if we had any issues. The lightbulb in the bathroom stopped working 15 minutes after we arrived and there was no hot water for the entire 48 hours we were there, even though we were promised over text it would work within the next 10 minutes. We were fooled by the good reviews of this place, it does not deserve its high rating. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

Hotel could do with a sprucing up. Reception area, entrance. But fine.

The location is awesome. Beautiful view from all the rooms and breakfast area. You look directly at Little Adams Peak and Ella Rock, the sunrise is amazing. The staff were super helpful and the breakfast is so reasonable and incredible but don’t expect to finish it. It is a walk into town but the staff will order you tuk tuks and there are loads of them in town. I really recommend staying here.

Chose this hotel because of the high rating. When we arrived there was no at least one bottle of water in the room - there should always be water, when you meet guests! We had to go to the city for drinking water! We stayed one night in a room “Deluxe double room with balcony” but you should know that it is not your personal balcony, it is a shared terrace where other guests will be in the morning and late in the evening, and this is a breakfast area! So there is no view from your room. The room itself was small, the curtains need to be closed all the time, someone walks in front of your windows, so the room is very dark. I read in the reviews that the breakfast here is good…it wasn’t bad, but the portion size was small, not like other reviews, for some reason we got the same portion for two of us as the girl sitting next to us, but she was alone (what …? It was very strange). Also parking directly above the room…. All in all, it does not match to the photo and description. It is cheap, but this is not the first time I have stayed in Ella, I know for sure that there are better options for this price, with private balcony in your room and nice view. Don't recommend this place.

Really great place, amazing views, so much breakfast you can barely eat it - really good as well. Very sweet and caring staff! Spotless rooms, spacious. You need a tuktuk to get there - 500 rupees. But you can walk down if you want. Would definitely stay again!

Depending on the room, it might be a bit loud as they aren’t really soundproof. Moskito nets should be replaced.
