Ella Peace Heaven

We came late night and check in was very smooth and good breakfast in the morning.

Outside of the busy Ella but close enough to reach all the attractions by car or tuk tuk.

It’s wasn’t as peaceful as we had imagined. The sounds of cicadas at night and temple prayer in the morning disrupted our sleep a bit. The rooms and bedsheets weren’t super clean - especially the blankets provided. If the place is full, don’t expect any hot water or enough water pressure to get a nice shower.

We rented three rooms for five adults over four nights and had a truly memorable stay. Ella Peace Heaven feels more like a homestay than a hotel- the family lives on the ground floor, while most guest rooms are upstairs so you still have your own space. Every morning, we enjoyed freshly prepared Sri Lankan breakfasts, and you can also request dinners made with fresh ingredients from their garden at incredibly reasonable prices. The rooms are simple but comfortable, with spacious bathrooms and small balconies offering beautiful views. Some rooms include bug nets and fans, depending on your booking. The property also features a welcoming terrace with hammocks, where you can relax while spotting a variety of birds, including many peacocks- it’s like a little peacock paradise! The location is about a 10-minute tuk-tuk ride from Ella (around 1000 rupees). We appreciated staying outside the busy town, surrounded by views of the temple and tea plantations, which offered a peaceful, serene atmosphere. Samith and his family were exceptionally warm and welcoming, sharing insider tips and making us feel like part of their home. They are such a lovely family, ready to help or answer any questions we had or just indulge in our general Sri Lankan curiosity. I highly recommend Ella Peace Heaven for an authentic Sri Lankan homestay experience!

As is common in Sri Lanka the WIFI was pretty spotty - I recommend loading up on data anyways when you are traveling here. Sometimes the water pressure was low - but they are working on it! ;)

Beautiful view and family was super nice

Staff were amazing, beautiful views and great food. The hosts cooked my dinner, a traditional Sri Lankan meal, the night I arrived. Breakfast was great, filling me up for the rest of the day.

A bit far from the centre but that's not a problem if you want to relax around the hotel.

The rooms were not clean, we had to clean that bathroom better, in the first night we did not receive the room we booked and it was bad and uncomfortable and not clean.
