Arthur's Pass Ecolodge

The view is as amazing as it appears in the advert, and the bed was super comfortable. Helen is an amazing hostess, she made us feel so welcome in her special home, cooked a delicious breakfast (bread straight from the oven!) and shared lots of great advice for our trip.

We wouldn’t normally book somewhere with a shared bathroom, but the advantages absolutely outweighed this, and we were super-glad we stayed there.

Beautiful views, terrific breakfast and close to hiking trails. Beds were comfy and the place was very eco-friendly. Helen, who lives there, is a friendly, knowledgeable host. Fine for a short stay.

As the house is small and quirky and the host (who is an absolutely lovely person) is always at home, there was no place/opportunity for privacy or to really relax, aside from the bedroom.

Helen made the stay the best. She greeted us upon arrival. We included dinner in our stay which was delicious and helpful since there are not many food options around the area. She is very generous to offer her personal home to travelers. We were recommended a hike that happened to be at the end of her street. The views from her house are amazing. A wonderful experience.

The views are actually breathtaking and you get that from the living room and your bedroom! I also loved the location, was very practical.
