When we walked into the lodge the view was breathtaking. The lodge is cosy, warm and perfect for a short stay. Helen was a fabulous host, very chatty, knowledgeable about the area and welcoming

Being off grid has its challenges but Helen has a good set-up

Special experience! Helen is amazing, sociable and welcoming. Our first night in the South Island and the perfect experience to bank in our memories! Great restaurant up the road for a very good cooked meal .

Helen was very welcoming. We were only staying 1 night but would have stayed longer if we had the time. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious using fresh, local ingredients. Helen is a very interesting sociable person and couldn't have made us feel more at home. Thoroughly recommend staying at Ecolodge.

Wonderful breakfast with Helen’s homemade bread. Stargazing and views over valley and mountains incredible. Good to meet and share with other guests. Good hotel in Arthur’s pass for evening meals. Very comfortable bed with great views. Wonderful midway location for exploring Castle Hill, Arthur’s Pass, East and West Coasts.

The shared bathroom and compost toilet was not pleasant especially between 5 adults. Only one electric point in whole house! No bedside lamps.

We didn't know what to expect at Arthur's Pass Lodge. However, our stay here turned out to be a highlight of our trip to the South Island. Helen is a wealth of information, a great host, excellent cook and baker and just a pleasure to be around. The views from her place are excellent, and the ambiance there was truly remarkable. I would go back through Arthur's Pass just to stay here again.
