Tropical House Bungalows

Tropical House is a value home stay with location close to the main harbour of Gili Trawangan. The Rooms are basic and are equipped with Air Conditioner, bed was comfortable they also placed an extra bed for my daughter, and attached washroom is there. I stayed here with my wife and daughter for 2 nights and the best part about the stay was that the hosts Alwyn and his friends were superb. On the 2nd eve I got the opportunity to sit with them while I was sipping a beer and they asked me to join in their Friday celebration. This group of guys were great company they offered me the drinks and were very courteous. Later I met them again partying out and we all met like old pals, that was the highlight of my stay there. The property is not as new as showing in the pics however the quality of the stay was great. They have a small pool right outside the room and a basic bar at the entry point. They also provide bikes on rental and can also help with booking ferry tickets or the island tour. Breakfast menu was limited however it was fresh and tasty. Recommended for future stay for all budget travellers.

Following can be improved upon: There is only 1 light right in the middle of the room, they should have atleast 1 more smaller light in case you need just the dim light. Shower in the washroom with hot water would be great although I never felt the need of hot water as the weather was hot.

Great location and nice staff. The outdoor bathroom was a cool experience.

The ac didn’t work that well

Everything was clean, the stuff is amazing. Special mention to DANI he was the best. everyone is super nice we rent bikes there and did a tour round the island. they make u breakfast too.

Thought the bibs could of been emptied everyday. Also think the bathrooms should of been cleaned and checked if toilet paper was needed.

Unfortunately, I cannot confirm the positive ratings given to this Tropical House Bungalows. The place and the rooms are dirty, in bad shape and hardly maintained. In the same condition is the milky pool. The so-called included breakfast consists of two eggs (scrambled of fried) and a slice of toast bread. No coffee, no butter, no marmalade, no omelette (tomatoes missing), no fruits, not even pepper is available to season the fried eggs. Looking into the open kitchen hut does not make appetite to eat there. The three guys running this place are usually laying on the floor of the reception hut sleeping or playing with their cell phones instead of caring for the hotel. NO PLACE TO STAY.

The staff at tropical bungalows were so fun and helpful! Breakfast was yum and Danny made the best mojitos ! 😎

all very good for the price, obviously don’t expect luxury :)
