Sequoia Forest Retreat

Clean and comfy place to stay relatively close to national parks.

Brenda is the "go to" and welcomes, cooks, cleans and gives suggestions on places and an all around welcoming, superb personality. Ronald, owns the home and has been in the location of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks for over 30 years so he is a wealth of information. All the rooms are a great size; everything is very clean, huge dining table, birds that sing every morning and the ability to meet others from different countries.

Cool place with lots of natural resources

Brenda's home-made pizza was delicious and most welcome at the end of a long day. I'm sure her pancakes would have been awesome as well. The house wasn't fancy, but it was clean and comfortable. It was like staying with your character of an aunt who lives out in the boonies and always has friends coming through to chat or stay the night.

The host was very attentive and willing to help. The space is comfortable and peaceful, with decent Wi-Fi and a great connection to nature. Ordering a pizza is a must if you’re staying here.

The access road is a bit tedious, with lots of curves, and cell signal can be spotty at times.

Ronald and Brenda were great, and very accommodating. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and had interesting decor.

The shower could've been better, but that's such a small issue, and wouldn't affect us staying there again.

My host, Brenda, was friendly, cheerful and helpful.

There were a few things which could be improved on. I mentioned a couple of them to Brenda—one of them being a hook on the bathroom door for towels, etc. It's clear that there used to be one but it was never replaced! The other problem—which was easily rectified was the noise of the aquarium in my room. I didn't want to pull the plug and kill the fish, so I left it on the first night. The next day, Brenda shared that she had failed to mention to me that I could do this without harming the fish!

The people in the welcome were great. Brenda is an absolute treasure, she made us a wonderful pizza and kept us entertained. Ronald, the owner, was very attentive and helpful.

The address number for the house location was hard to read. However, they’re putting a new sign out.

It was peaceful and quiet. It was clean. Brenda, the host was very nice and made a killer pizza and delicious blueberry pancakes. Ron the homeowner was very helpful and would go out of his way to get us anything we needed.
