Mekong Farmstay CanTho - C.R Floating Market

De gastheer en zijn moeder waren supervriendelijk en gastvrij! We hebben een floating market tour gedaan, een stuk gefietst en dat vonden de kinderen (10 en 12) ook erg leuk, Human vertelde ons veel over de omgeving en de cultuur en liet ons de lokale markt zien, aanrader!

De locatie was minder omringd door natuur dan vooraf gedacht, er lag ook veel afval op de straat rondom het hotel, maar daar kon de gastheer natuurlijk niets aan doen.

Human was an amazing host and showed us around Can Tho. We had a great time!

Human was a fantastic host. We Highly recommend the morning river market tour. We left at 6:00 am on bikes to get to the boat, and it was fun to see the town come alive as we pedaled. Breakfast on the boat was our favorite, and the rice noodle factory was cool. Our boys loved it. Thank you, Human, for a wonderful experience!

Beautiful setting, wonderful tour, excellent staff. I felt well cared for.

Not much evening activity.

Human and his mother run a lovely simple homestay. They offer tours to floating markets and bicycle and boat there and back. Very pleasant chatting with Human as well.

Food was a real highlight. Nhan is a fantastic host. Make sure you take up the offer of the walk through the village.

Human, the owner, is the absolutely best host ever! He is incredibly attentive to his guests and is always there to answer your questions, guide you or simply share his knowledge about Vietnam. The location for this gem is great…you’re in a small village close to the city but it feels quite rural. We stayed 4 nights and felt very spoiled the entire time. The meals, delicious and varied, are cooked by his mother and included in the price. The bungalows are basic but comfortable and clean and the mosquito nets are very welcome. There is a nice space outside each bungalow to relax. There is no air conditioning but we found the fans he provided sufficient. His free bikes are in good condition…the best we had in Vietnam. We don’t usually do a lot of guided trips, preferring to explore on our own, but we were SO glad we did one with Human to the floating markets, noodle factory and land market. It was awesome and personal . We were alone with him and the boatman, a family member, and Human is wealth of information and speaks English very well. We were so glad not to be on one of the bigger impersonal commercial boats! I can’t say enough good things about Human and this homestay. It was my favourite 4 days in Vietnam!

My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Mekong Farmstay Can Tho. We'd decided at short notice to book a 2-night stay in the Mekong Delta for a little rural experience in the south after staying in Saigon, but were apprehensive we wouldn't have that good of an experience without having had the chance to research the area more...But it turned out we'd picked the perfect spot for a first impression of the region! The accommodation itself is nice, with a cozy, country vibe. The room was what you can expect from the area: simple but sufficient, with plenty of fresh air circulating (and a mosquito net around the bed). There was plenty of greenery around the room, and I actually came to really like the open air attached bathroom (though can appreciate it might not be for everyone). What really made it an outstanding experience was Human himself and his lovely family! We'd booked a river tour of the floating market etc. in advance, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover Human would be our guide for that, too. His English is great, and he is (for me) the perfect mix I want from a host: enthusiastic about his own culture and curious to understand others, but also chilled enough to give you as much space as you need. As always, I had many questions about local life, ecology and the cuisine, but Human is very knowledgeable and actually seemed to enjoy answering these, so we talked and shared a lot during our short stay. Human's mother does most of the cooking; she's lovely, and everything she makes is delicious, so we always felt completely spoilt. I also really appreciated their patience in letting me request a few particularly local 'off-menu' preparations for a real taste of the region! Beyond this, Human and his family did everything they could to make us feel really welcome and part of their lives. One of the happy memories that's stayed with me is of Human and his charming brother taking us out for juice on our first night...
