Mekong Farmstay CanTho - C.R Floating Market

We stayed at the Mekong Farmstay back in November and loved every minute of it - the room was very nice with an al fresco bathroom - it felt like you were at one with nature! The gardens were full of greenery and wildlife and felt so relaxing. The real star of the show was Human - what a fantastic host - so friendly and welcoming- he provided us with some drinks and mosquito spray on arrival and then over the course of the two days him and his lovely mother cooked us fantastic Vietnamese food - the best we had on our 2 week break! We opted to go on his fantastic Can Tho River Market tour - Human was so helpful, informative and entertaining- (we were lucky as there were no other residents at the Homestay at that time, so we got a private tour!) Human showed us a lively local market and then recommended a great chocolate farm and temple which we went to after the tour on our own with the bikes he provided us with - was a great experience! Human even accompanied us as we waited on a nearby street for our taxi to take us to the next location in our itinerary - we felt sad to leave - what a wonderful host - we would highly recommend a stay there ! Thanks to you and your family Human and hope to return one day ! Thanks for making great memories for us!

Nothing, we loved everything about this place!

At first Human and his family are such a beautiful human beings. Be sure to be guided to delta by Human. He is very smart and talks English very good. Atmosphere on the Farm is charming. Rooms are basic but everything nessesary is here for you. Food provided by Human s mom is outstanding… I would be very happy if everyone could experience Farmstay and floating market. Give it a go!

If you focus on Human and his farm, you are all good.

Great location a bit away from the city but still within reach. Great place to start exploring the surrounding. Free bicycle rental available! Great host and delicious food!

The only thing we did not like was leaving

Human is very kind, helpful and hospitable. The rooms are clean and basic. The surrounding area is quiet.

The rate for the room is much too high for the standard of the place and of the room. The dinner was very simple and basic.

We had a great stay here. Human takes being a host to the top level, communication is easy and he is very helpful for any need, money exchange, booking bus tickets etc for ongoing journey. I also appreciated the follow up next day to make sure all went well. Our children really enjoyed his mother’s cooking particularly her “KFC”, the outside shower and sleeping under the mosquito nets. We took his floating market tour, riding bikes to the boat, Human was happy to go the long way so there we’re less scooters for the children to deal with. We would happily stay here again if in the area.

It is a little tricky to find on Grab, but that is because the guesthouse is on a small side street. You need to book the grab to the corner and it’s only a short 40m walk.

Mekong Farmstay is so much better than the listing suggests. It’s an authentic stay in a small village where everyone smiles and says hello to you yet it’s easily reached from Can Tho. Human is a wonderful guy who couldn’t do more for you. He told us so much about the local area that we wouldn’t have learnt without his guidance. The food served is excellent and the additional tours are well worth it. We did the morning floating market tour & visit to a local rice noodle factory. The wifi signal is excellent. There are bikes for visiting local places. The local village has several cafes, snack & fruit shops and even restaurants. Book at least 2 nights. It’s well worth it.

I highly recommend staying here and doing the morning floating market tour. It far exceeded our expectations. We actually wish we had stayed an extra night, this was by far the highlight of our trip in the south of Vietnam. Human is very nice, the cabins are great, and he went above and beyond giving us recommendations of things to see. Plus his mom is an incredible cook. We felt like we truly got to know what life is like in the Mekong delta in the one day we were there.

Everything was perfect

At least once in your life you have to visit this lovely and real Vietnam place. You live by Human, the most perfect og nice person. He own the houses and his mother make the typical Vietnamise food 3 times a Day. Human make the best local trips, where turist normal don’t come for visit-he tell you so much on the trips and give answers for the questaions we have.. So if you would try to live in a local vietnamise Village, you have to go to this love place. The house don’t have aircon, but it was not a problem, there was a fan for the night.

Nothing -the bed is a little bit hard, but it was ok.

We had an amazing time, Human is so friendly, the food is so good, the service is personalized and the proposed activities were very interesting.

The Delta of Mekong is very dirty and the floating market was a bit disapointing.
