Sharad Baug homestay

Sharag Baug was a welcome respite during my travels! The gardens and oasis of the property was a slice of nature and calm in the middle of the heat--the temps actually dip as you drive into the homestay! The room and private bath was immaculate and spacious; lovely porch and ample seating areas outside, space was calm and quiet. Food was delicious and fresh, the house and dining were like a personal museum--so much to see. Trishulini and family saw to my every need, arranging transportation daily, a quick trip to the doctor when I fell ill, and sending food to my room so I would feel better. Next level, really. Thank you so much and see you again!

There was nothing I did not like!!!

The homestay is surrounded by a tree plantation and garden... At the same time it's in the center of the city. The rooms are comfortable and well furnished. The toilets are very clean, large, sunny and airy.

Sharad Baug homestay was absolutely wonderful starting with the lovely and kind Trishulini who greeted us and gave us breakfast after a long bus journey. The room was impeccable with its own veranda complete with very cool antique furniture. Surrounded by garden and then fields it is a peaceful oasis with birdsong. The food was delicious, the atmosphere of the dining hall felt like stepping back in time and a stroll through the palace grounds spoke of the history of another time. You can easily walk into town or grab a tuk tuk to visit temples and the market. This homestay was my favourite stay of my trip and I highly recommend you give it a try. Wonderful hotel! Kind and helpful owners & superb staff. Delicious & abundant food, some of it from produce grown in the grounds. Meals eaten at a communal table, so you get to meet and benefit from the knowledge of other guests. Beautifully decorated rooms with many amenities, including seat swings on the verandah. Set in a walled estate close to the lakes at the centre of Bhuj, which is a joy to explore.

The setting of the homestay is beautiful and like an oasis in the middle of Bhuj. The owners and staff were extraordinary in their hospitality and in making us feel welcome. Highly recommended.

The setting and staff

The homestay is set in the grounds of a beautiful palace. There's a museum where you can see wonverful artefacts from a bygone era. The setting is sylvan and idyllic with the Royals going out of their way to make the guests feel welcome, aided by their sincere staff. A different kind of experience for travellers

I liked all aspects of the property
