The hosts were the stand out feature for our stay - incredibly helpful and kind. Even made us tea when we had to get up early to catch the first train out. Quiet location away from the crowds in Ella. Lovely terrace to relax on with nice views and a welcome breeze.

Best hostel in Sri Lanka!! The owners are this amazing local family that cannot do enough to ensure you have an amazing stay!! Close to town and train station so really convenient!!

The host is very friendly and helpful. The location is great. Breakfast was delicious.

It‘s a great budget travelling option with ever-friendly, helpful hosts and a beautiful view over the city. The connection to public transport is excellent (2min walk to railway station if you want to catch the infamous Kandy-Ella-train). Breakfast is included in the already affordable daily rate, featuring some simple and delicious variants of Sri Lankan breakfast. We have been touched by the owners so far unparalleled hospitality, ranging from taking care of minor bites and bruises after hiking to an invitation of their family‘s private New Year‘s Eve celebration. Thanks again for that lovely experience.

The bathroom might need a sweep more but the friendliness and hospitality of the owners do more than make up for that. Bringing some earplugs will keep you from being bothered by occasional parties of the city’s nearby nightclubs if you happen to be a light sleeper.

If you want to be close to the train station and want to sleep during the night + to have accomodation at a reasonable price, this is the perfect place. Highly recommended when you want to visit Ella + good to take breakfast (we wanted to visit early morning Lipton Seat and the host prepared breakfast for our trip 👍)

The owners are very kind, hospitable and helpful. The room is big and clean. The owner and his wife speak very good English. They always give necessary guidence about the places to visit . Their breakfast is very delicious.Definetely we will come back.

Amazing hosts. So kind. Delicious breakfast. Location to the station, incredibly close. Excellent value and such a pleasant view from the property over Ella. Highly recommend this place for those that want walking distance to Main Street, station. Would stay again for sure.

Room really needs a spring clean. Cobwebs, spiders etc. Could use new bathroom floor mats. Current ones not great. I am comparing only to properties of a similar value. Others I have stayed in have been very clean comparatively. Note for light sleepers, you will be woken by the train and kept up late with music from nearby bars. It was no problem for me with earplugs.
