Mountain Breath Retreat - Am Nui Tho

This was probably one of the highlights of our month-long trip. Initially planned to stay for one night but extended to three because it was so nice. The owners were unbelievably friendly, generous, welcoming and helpful. It is in an area not common to tourists but they have made sure there are things to do and it's easy/convenient to do them. The view from the lookout of the lake is amazing and the boat tour was fun. The house is lovely and modern and all the food was great. Completely exceeded our expectations of Yen Bai and made the best end to a great trip. Thank you very much!

We had an amazing stay with Phuong & Ai! Everything was perfect, and a lot of things above our expectations. By far best value for money of our +15 accomodations so far. Food was amazing & super fresh. Very clean room with a good & warm shower. Perfect location with a lot of rental options for a great price. Also the couple is SUPER helpful. It’s really a hidden gem here.

I have so much to say about this amazing place. Phuong and his wife Ai have been our favourite hosts so far on our trip. When we arrived we discovered that Phuong had written a book on Zen Meditation and had studied under a famous zen master in France. After reading the book cover to cover on our first day, he led us in zen meditation that evening. We even booked an extra night just so we could learn as much as possible. Our room was so modern and clean and Ai’s cooking is the best we’ve had in Vietnam and we doubt it will be topped. At sunrise we took the scooter and hiked up to the lookout point overlooking Thac Ba Lake. To top off our final night we played games with the kids and laughed so much for hours. We can’t wait to go back and visit you all our next time in Vietnam.

Everything. The house is modern and spacious, the meals the host family cooked were absolutely delicious but the best was the kindness of the whole family. I would go back there just to spend some confortable days chatting with Phuong. He is one of the most interesting and calm person I have ever met in my life. He has had a lot of different experiences in his life he is happy to share with his guests. He also took me t a local dentist which was great and cheap. Prices are extremely convenient for the quality you get!!! I hope to see you soon!

Absolutely amazing family who run this place the food is sone of the best I have tasted in Vietnam.The host speaks fluent englush and can arrange anything for you from buses to the dentist .Fantastic service and make sure you go to the look out point for Thac Ba Lake its a fare hike but well worth it take food and picnic at the top you won't regret it

The property was a great stop over on our way back to Hanoi from Sapa. The place is really clean and tidy and the hosts are really welcoming. Their English is brilliant and the dinner was superb. The look outs are also great to get a view of the lake

Thank you so much for a lovely stay! We stayed for one night at the end of October but could most definitely have stayed longer! The room was lovely, spacious and clean. The lady that hosted our stay was so kind - she offered us a lift to her family’s viewpoint (which is incredible - check it out!) and arranged our bus for us back to the centre. Thank you!

This was a stopover for us traveling to Hanoi, but honestly we could have stayed longer. The place was very nice and spacious. We enjoyed taking the little walking route the host recommended to us and were amazed by the views. The dinner was absolutely delicious and the best part was having a great discussion with the host, he was very kind and very knowledgeable on Vietnam. We can't recommend this place enough!
