Mountain Breath Retreat - Am Nui Tho

The whole thing. I really enjoy my stay here. It's close to Hồ Thác Bà. I especially like the host. She often goes out of her way to make us feel at home. She is also very helpful in providing information to help you plan your trip. She's a beautiful lady and her children are very well behaved. I would come back again for sure.

The distance. Its 'a bit far from town but if you want a nice and quiet place. This is the one for you.

We loved our stay here so much! We stopped here after the Ha Giang loop on our way to Ninh Binh. It was the perfect location to relax. Everything was extremely clean and Phuong and his wife were so kind. We ate all our meals there and each one was so delicious, truly some of the best food we ate so far in Vietnam. Phuong was kind enough to send us the recipes after as well. Phuong and his wife also drove us over to the viewpoint of the lake, its quite the steep hike up, but the view at the top is absolutely incredible! Phuong’s english is perfect so it was very easy for us to communicate with him and he was always very responsive. Highly recommend staying here :)

Stayed here while on route from Sapa to Hanoi. It is located in a mountainous area (great clean air), just outside Yen Bai city. It uses clean energy and has good filtered drinking water! It is more than just a clean and comfortable place to stay, it is an experience that we will forever cherish. Phuong, the host, is very hospitable and had made us feel right at home. He took us for a little tour around his compound which is breathtaking and the environment is so relaxing and calming. There were many plants and beautiful flowers lovingly cared for by his wife, Ai, who is also an excellent cook. She cooked us a delicious meal with fresh organic salad vegetables coming from their garden. What a treat! We had one of the most restful sleep here as the bed is so comfortable, it is also equipped with an electric heating pad should you need one during the cold season although we didn’t use whilst there. Everything you need in a comfortable stay is all provided for. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Wished we could stay longer and take Phuong’s hiking tour to view the Thac ba lake but time wasn’t on our side. We also enjoyed very much talking about anything and everything and we learnt much about Vietnam’s history from him too. Definitely a must stay if you are in the area.

Nothing to not like really!

It is difficult to match this level of *feeling welcome* - I have felt 100% at home with Phuong and his wife + son. The *food* is INCREDIBLE. Easily the best I've had in Vietnam; it was fresh, exciting and very tasty. Slept like a baby in a *very comfortable bed*. The room is spacious too. And above all, *the communication* with Phuong is in near native-level English, which made gaining insights (and there were many :)) a breeze. I am very grateful for this experience, and have felt like a VIP for a couple of days. Usually I am wary of close-to-10-star ratings on Booking, but if 11 was an option, I would've ticked it.

We were in Vietnam for 2 weeks going to different homestays, hotels and resorts pretty much every day but this was the absolute highlight of our trip. 1. The place was squeaky clean. I always make it a habit to check under the bed before I check out to see if I’ve left anything — in this case, no dust bunnies or anything what so ever! While most houses in Vietnam are built to be half-open this house is built in a way where it can completely close making it difficult for dust and bugs to get in. 2. The food was the most delicious and healthiest we had in Vietnam! Phuong has knowledge in nutrition / food combination so him and his wife prepares authentic, Vietnamese meals while ensuring it’s healthy for our body and mind. All ingredients used were also either from their garden (organic!) or from the local area so it was also super fresh! If you stay here, I highly recommend eating here! 3. Phuong and his family are just wonderful people. They made us feel straight at home and part of the family. We very much enjoyed getting to know them and their stories. 4. We also went for a hike / walk up to a viewpoint they are creating which overlooks the lake and the 13,000 islands close to the home. We also did a boat tour on the lake run by the host’s father. Both experiences were so authentic in such untouched places (zero tourists) — it was just so magical. We initially stayed for 1 night and then went on with our trip to other locations but we loved it so much that we changed our route entirely at the end so we could spend 2 more nights there at the end of our trip. That’s how much we loved being there!!!

This place is perfect for a sleepover during a motorbike trip to sapa. The hosts are amazingly friendly and the dinner together with them is highly recommended!! They serve typical Vietnamese food and show you how to eat it in a Vietnamese way (also vegetarian option). Because of the good English skills of the owner you can get a lot of informations about Vietnam and tips for nice spots. The room is big and clean and has a nice terrace. Couldn’t have been better!

Simply everything was great! The stay with Phoung, the owner, and his family was the best part during my entire scooter ride trip through Vietnam. Phoung and his lovely wife took so well care of me, they treat their guests literally like family. I initially wanted to stay only one night as a stop over coming from Sapa, heading to Hanoi. However I liked it so much instantly, that I decided to stay 2 nights. The freshly cooked breakfast and dinner, eaten together with the family, was the best meals I have had in Vietnam. Phoung brought me on a boat trip on Thac Ba Lake, which was amazing. In the evening he brought me and one other guest from India to play volleyball and dance together with his wife and her friends in the village. Such a great local experience you can really indulge in the local culture ! You shouldnt miss that! Besides, that remote part of Yen Bai is so tranquille and peaceful.

There's is absolutely nothing I didn't like ;)
