MYWell organised house tucked away by Melinau river which renders a nature stream for swimming and dipping (though I did not jump in). The stay is just right opposite the airport, so I did not need to rush for departure at all. Having said that, a short 15min walk is needed towards the national park entrance. I enjoyed the scenic views of the jutting mountains and birds watching along the walk most. Spacious room has the basic furnitures including a long table and bedside table convenient for me to place my stuff in good order as well as the ceiling fan to cool off the heat. Bathroom is very clean with good shower. Despite without heater, the humidity of Mulu will ensure that is not essential. I did not need to worry about my meals as Salina's home cooking will always keep stomach pampered from breakfast to dinner. Free refill drinking water and coffee/tea. Tried out the home-made tuak and I loved it. I would never forget the warm hospitality by the couple owners. We had good chats.
Nothing.
GBIf your staying in Mulu, I would recommended this place a lot! It was a lovely home stay and you can swim in the river here. There is no Aircon but a really big fan so make sure you can handle the heat. Really good food every night and even though it's a 10 min walk to the park I would definitely stay here again
Nothing really, could have asked for a better stay. This is rural life so do expect luxury!
DEVery friendly and heartwarming homestay. Highly recommended. The host family was very nice, the home made food was superb, and rooms clean. The house and the host family are building an atmosphere of home after the trips to the national park. The location is quite central in regards of the remote Mulu. 20 min on foot to the entrance of the national park and less than 2 min on foot to the airport (no, you do not hear planes at night, as there are no flights scheduled). Water, snacks and coffee is included. Meals are safe made and are offered for a fair price as well as cold refreshments. They have an own jetty, where you can be dropped of from the national park guides, when coming back from the tours. No "warm" showers (not necessary, as the outside temperature is mostly above 25 °C). Water is clean 😊

USThe location of this homestay is the best part about it. It's a 2 minute walk from the park entrance while still giving you the feel of being outside of the park. They kept power on the whole time so we could still charge things throughout the day and keep the fans on all night. At nights the rooms cooled down and were comfortable. The bathrooms were shared but we were the only people here so it felt private.
If you're planning to hangout here during the day in your downtime at all I wouldn't recommend. The rooms get very very hot and uncomfortable during the day. It's better to hangout within the park where it's much cooler.
CASuperb location, 5 min walk to the park HQ, spotless clean, very pleasantly and friendly owner, i really enjoyed my stay!!!
NOThe ONLY positive thing I have to say about this building is that it was fairly clean and I did not see any bugs inside or in the bathroom.
DON'T STAY HERE. The house looked abandoned, and certainly felt like it. The front door had no lock and no one was there,- when we called the owner she was in another town, and after a while her sister showed up to give us our roomkey and towels, then left. ELECTRICITY ONLY FROM 6 PM TO MIDNIGHT. No smoke alarm. Luckily we had an extra padlock to secure the entrance door. Had to stay because of unexpected changes in our itinerary, and all the acommodation inside the park was full, and it was violently raining.
