Sastra Ubud House

Die Unterkunft ist gut für einen Aufenhalt in Ubud geeignet. Die Lage ist gut, nicht zu weit vom Zentrum aber trotzdem ruhig. Neben der Unterkunft ist direkt ein Rollerverleih, welcher wirklich gut und einfach ist. Die Besitzerin ist nett und hilft überall weiter! Die Zimmer sind sauber.

Leider gibt es keine Klimaanlage, wehalb es manchmal wirklich sehr warm im Zimmer ist. Das Frühstück könnte etwas mehr sein. Es gibt eine Gemeinschaftsküche, diese ist aber etwas dreckig.

We had a perfect stay at Sastra House for four nights. On the first day as we arrived late at midnight the owner waited for us until we arrived. Also every day she cleaned our room. The room was very spacious, clean, with a perfect terrace where every day the owner served us breakfast and the night before she asked us what we wanted to order and what time we wanted to have breakfast.The owner also organizes excursions like to Mount Batur, and there is a scooter rental service right next to the house. Everything was great, I hope we come back!

Great location. Very quiet. Great price. Hot water. Decent wifi.

I booked ten days and extended two more weeks. This lovely homestay became my home base in Bali. My lovely host Komang made delicious breakfast and was very kind to invite me to pray together with her family on the special day, which has become one of the best memories in Ubud. Some reviews complain about the noise because of their motorbike business but I barely heard it during my long stay because they are doing mostly online motorbike delivery. The room is very spacious and safe.

Absolutely lovely family, Sastra and Dewa were the nicest people I could wish to have around. They were extremely helpful and responsive with everything, even with non business related matters. I would choose this place over and over again. People from the scooter shop were also lovely.

People from the scooter rental using the kitchen, not just the guests.. sometimes it did make me feel shy to do stuff around but personally it didn’t bother me much. All the good stuff outweighs this small discomfort. Kitchen also could be a little bit cleaner so I feel more inclined to use it.

Very comfortable bed and nice quiet location. The room was big and bright and a big bathroom too. Great shower but a bit slow to drain.

Was a little dusty and our room was a little warm. It was the only one that had direct sun on it for a couple of hours a day so we had to keep curtains closed to try and keep it cool - if the owner decides to install AC in any of the rooms it should be room #2.

The warmth and generosity of tge host and her family, and the accessibility of the guesthouse to the town center. My hosts were very hospitable, allowing me to tag along with them to temples, including their family temples, to celebrate Galungan. Komang, the female host even lent me a kebaya for the occasion and gifted me a platter of food. They really helped me to understand their community, customs and traditions. It was a wonderful and insightful and experience.

Better than expected — great value for this price! Friendly staff. Spacious, light-filled room. There was a fan, and I was comfortable with that. Glass doors let in lots of daylight. Lovely terrace for coffee breaks. Wi-Fi was strong — perfect for video calls and movies.
