Sastra Ubud House

Good location, within walking distance to the main street. The room is big and spacious, which was important because I had a lot of luggage. The owner and staff are so nice and kind, always smiling and help you with any inquiries. It's easier to access from Jl. Sandat than Jl. Sri Wedari though, so keep this in mind if you're bringing a lot or heavy luggages like me.

Great place, central, private, quiet, good wifi, nice garden.

I stayed at the Sastra Ubud House for 4 nights and found it really relaxing. The room was really nice and big for one person, and that's for the price. WIFI was constantly available and had a good speed. You could work very well. But you have to be aware that there is no TV or anything like that. But that has never been a point for me when booking a hotel. You can also book breakfast if you want. But I never enjoyed that because I'm always out and about early. So I can't say anything about that. You also have a small terrace where you can spend time. It's also very quiet because it's not on the main or side road. It's not far to walk to the center and there are enough supermarkets nearby. There are also enough laundries. Here's another tip. If you see the Google Maps or Booking entry, then it's right on the street. But it's easier to get in from the other side. The signage definitely needs improvement. Otherwise I have nothing else to "complain" about :-)

The rooms are comfortable, nice furniture, clean, wifi works great, i slept good even without AC, heat wasnt an issue at all. Sooo peaceful garden in the midst of Ubud, very kind stuff and the breakfast is lovely! Location is great - love the street with many good and cheap options to eat.

Location was great and quiet even though super central. The staff was super friendly and helped us with storing our luggage for a few days for free which we are very grateful for. We also rented a bike from them and it went very smoothly.

The room was clean and centrally located, 10min walk from the art market.

Poor signage and directions: There was no obvious sign for the accommodation, and it’s located inside a residential compound with a 3-minute walk between houses. There were no sign at the front entrance or the other exit, which made navigation very difficult, especially in the dark. The entrance from the back was very dark with only two sensor street lights, making it challenging and feel insecure to find my way around. Unclear check-in process: When I arrived at 8 pm, I managed to entrance the compound but was lost immediately with no sign at all. A lady picked me up in the compound and pointed me to one of the room after asking my name. She turned away immediately. I was left in the dark trying to figure things out, including where is the light switch and keys. Minimal staff presence: During my three-day stay, I barely saw any staff. It was hard to find someone for assistance, and I couldn’t locate anyone for check-out either.

Really comfortable queen size bed, room had a small fridge useful to keep drinks or snacks cold and fresh.

Room got very warm during the day, only a ceiling fan but wasn't quite enough to cool it down. Had to open doors late in the afternoon to allow cooling.
