Sastra Ubud House

I loved it’s location. Bang in town where it’s all happening but at the back of a courtyard near a narrow one way street, so it was quiet. The room was spacious and there was a little balcony space too

I was in room 1 so the balcony was not very private.

The room was very spacious and clean. The bed is a 10 ! Also very central but quiet. The stuff was amazing and the breakfast was served literally on your doorstep. Very good money value as well . Would definitely go back.

The toilet smelled a bit funny sometimes.

Brand new spacious room is with a big veranda with a view on a little tropical garden located in a quite area with some good, not too expensive, small restaurants and a few grocery stores as well.

The kindness of the staff and the location, close but not too close to the main street or tourist areas.

I extended my stay in Sastra and stayed there for months. I loved living with this sweet family. They make you feel at home and are so helpful if you have any requests. It´s one of the best homestays I stayed in during my trip to Bali and you get so much value for the low cost of staying here. It´s very central and close to everything but at the same time very quiet and serene at night. One of the things I really loved was the terrace and the beautiful night sky and sound of nature at night. The rooms are spacious and clean and have all the necessities. I was also able to take warm showers with good pressure during my whole stay which was so amazing! They also offer motorbike rentals and are very knowledgable and helpful. Thank you so much Komang and Ngurah and the rest of the beautiful team who made this a memorable journey for me. See you guys next time :) Hugs from Denmark.

Clogged shower drain. No windows, no air conditioner.

For the price, it was a pleasant hotel with clean rooms.

The shared kitchen is dirty, which is a shame because it could be nice. There are two entrances to the hotel, which can be a bit confusing, and sometimes it was difficult to find the hotel using the map.

Owners are very nice, always available. Cleaning is provided every day. Big room and bathroom and terrace. Delicious breakfast with many choices, also fresh fruit juice and lunch/dinner available for good price. Location is great, few minutes walk from main street. Water refill is available in the small kitchen area.

No air conditioning, so room is really hot, the ceiling ventilation helps but had difficulty to sleep at night as room is hot. Too much noise as owners has scooter renting just few meters away so people coming and going with scooters you can hear all discussions. Almost impossible to relax in the terrace although the garden is beautiful.

It’s the perfect place to be in Ubud without the noise coming from the crowded streets. Perfect retreat for solo travelers. I absolutely recommend it.
