Sophie House foreigners women only

It was near to the 홍대입구 station, the host lady was kind to talk with me even not good speaking of Korean language.

There was some leftover of previous person , the eyelash stayed in the desk, however overall is okay.

1) Arrived at 5.30pm, and host had given me the wrong code to unlock the door. She speaks no English. Had to wait outside in the rain until she arrived at 6.10pm so she could work out the correct code. 2) The room has no curtains at all, so you will be woken up at sun rise. 3) No towels are provided, so you must bring your own. 4) There was no one at the property when I needed to check out, so I packed my bags and waited for the host to arrive as I needed to ask her a question. She arrived 2.5 hours late and started shouting at me in Korean taking photos of me as I put my shoes on and tried to speak to her. I was terrified so left. 5) To put into perspective how much I do not recommend this property - I have been travelling continuously for 4 years, using booking.com daily for reservations and this is the first time I have ever written a negative review.

Super clean and modern! Great value for the price. I've stayed in a few places in Seoul in the same price range (even more expensive) and they often look good in pictures but are actually cheaply renovated with bad wall paper. I can honestly say Sophie's House is the best place I've stayed in Seoul- the room and house is actually newly renovated and super comfortable. Good security. I arrived early and she let me leave my bags in the living room until check in.

If mosquitoes like you, bring bug spray! There was 1 mosquito that found its way into my room even though the windows were closed so I did not sleep well. When it was time to go, I wanted to leave my luggage in the house but could not because she changes the door code, but there is a small area outside the door that you can leave your luggage and I felt safe leaving it there (no one steals in Korea). She doesn't speak much English but is super friendly and uses her phone to translate.

Excellent home stay with super friendly owner. Everything is very new and super clean.

The place was very clean and I loved that the neighborhood area was safe and family friendly. The host also provided very clean, minimalistic and pretty basic amenities that were all functioning and user friendly!! 100% will come back to stay again!
