shower, loved the snoopy sheets, our own entrance and exit vanity double sinks ,good shower head and water was soft.

water pressure in first sink was poor -need to clean screen. bed was hard, room was hot -no fan or a/c. pool was dirty. back yard was poorly maintained needing mowing with a lot of brown spots. front yard had overgrown hedges that needed to be trimmed because pulled on clothing/or stained clothing. house address can't be seen due to overgrown hedges passed the house 5 times before we discerned that had to be the house.

The cracked driveway was a starter. the lack of lawn care was stunning, and the hot tub had been broken for a long time. The pool was not heated and it was not warm enough to use it, plus it was uninviting. The workout equipment and the barbeque area outside was practical but unusable or uninviting. The weeds had seeds that made our dogs freak out due to burrs and seeds.

Location was amongst multi dollar estates but up keep of this property was poor.

No hand soap or face flannel in bathroom. No coffee maker or microwave in room, only in communal kitchen. Not hygienic. Hot water took 5 mins to taps. Was told that breakfast was NOT served.

Location was key for our stay. It was quiet. Accomadations were comfortable. The sheets and towels were clean. We enjoyed time on the deck. We were most appreciative for the the host's friendliness with daily greetings of kindness. His offer to deliver us to our venue on Saturday was unexpected and generous.

Our room had cobwebs, dusty floors, floor boards, and closet shelves. I was uncomfortable sitting on the deck furniture due to it being dusty and that dust was then transferred to my clothing. Recycling was overflowing and spilling onto the ground next to the pathway that we used.

Host made me come back 2 hours later because my room was not ready. The linens and towels all had a horrible smell like some very cheap soap or softener, all my clothes smelled like it after using them. The room is small and down a hallway but has an outside entrance. Outside of house needs maintenance landscaping, peeling paint, some rotting wood, Christmas decorations still up inside the house. The morning of my second day stay the water dept turned off the water to the house to do upgrades in the street. The host showed me a door knocker with the info about it being off today but obviously work on the road had been going on for a while and this was info that predated my stay. So why didn't they tell me so I could have planned for it. No shower, could not use the toilet etc. I left and found other accommodations. Host has refused any refunds to me but would let me stay there again. I dont think so.

Calm and quiet environment in nice neighborough. Owner very welcoming and always ready to provide extras, making cafe in the morning for you, or offering fruits from his kitchen. Half distance between San Diego and Northern attractions (safari, legoland).

In the family room, advertised sofa-bed was actually a simple sofa. It's a large single-family house renting several bedrooms on the first floor. The owners live on the second floor, in an apartment above the garage. Living room, kitchen, and yard are owner's and shared with him. The pool was not heated and in poor condition. The lawn is not maintained and dying at several places. The place was quite cold for us (single panes) and we had to ask the owner to raise the temperature a couple of times (house level forced air, no individual heater in the room).

That it was close to Rancho Santa Fe shopping center and restaurants.

We felt this was a complete misrepresentation on booking.com. The add states villa one bedroom. You are under the impression that it is separate from the house, not a bedroom in the house. We were told we were upgraded when we arrived and that we would get a private bathroom. I was really surprised because nowhere did it say we were going to have to share a bathroom. I would never have booked it,, had that been the case, The pictures shows a different room than the one we got. The nicer room, that I thought we were going to stay in, in a private little house on the property, was not rented out. We found that out when we were searching for toilet paper, The property itself is really run down and the yard is not maintained at all. Change the add and explain exactly what it is, and add more pictures and show people where they actually will be staying. We were super disappointed. If you know exactly what you are walking in to, then it would be worth the price, but only then. Maybe booking.com should stop having private individuals use their adds on their site and leave that to airbnb.
